You're going to find for every single negative review, there are hundreds and hundreds of satisfied customers that never say a word.
So I'll say it... I'm on my 3rd Thor Industries TT. Dutchmen, and 2 different Keystones now. I'm happy with all 3 of mine.
The problem "newbies" have with camper and why they are so quick to post, is because they, most likely, don't understand the commitment needed to keep a camper nice. It starts from the very beginning.... care and maintenance. And unfortunately, far too many purchase a camper and expect it be like the family car or a brand new, just built house ... which is what RV are NOT! They get disillusioned immediately and being posting negatives.
All the brands you've addressed in your post are good campers ... it's all a matter of what you make of them. Abuse them, and yes, they become trash in a few days ... really ... it doesn't take long. Treat them right, and they'll last a life-time.
About your choice ..... if you find the camper you REALLY like, distance should be no object! If you cannot travel 150 miles for the camper that really excites you ... well ... I don't imagine you're willing to drive 150 miles to a good campground either. (Think about it!).
If you settle for less than what you really want, you'll NEVER be happy with the selection you settle on. Get what you want, get it now, and get it right the first time, no matter how far you have to drive, or what the cost to do it. As said, if you don't ... you'll never be happy if you settle for second best. Take the family on a road trip on a Saturday and go check it out! Pack your hitch though... you may just come home with a new camper!
