Best kitty litter?

We've been using the kitty litter from Costco and find it good - far better than some stuff we bought at Walmart one time.
But I'm wondering if there is anything better?

It is more expensive than regular. It lasts a very long time and clumps really well so soil can be easily removed. It's made from corn and we feel is well worth the cost, even without counting less time shopping and carrying stuff.
a big XXX-222!!! We started using it when we adopted Molly about a year ago. She came from a shelter in supposed good health, but we soon found out that she had a bladder infection. The infection came back after first treatment. Ruined several good pairs of my shoes. Just mine, not DW's who wanted to adopt her. Any way the smell of the urine was overwhelming with that infection, and I quickly did a search for the "best" litter, which I found out I wasn't using the best. Found Worlds Best Cat Litter, and have been using it since. It solved the problem big time. I thought, because of the initial cost, that it would be very expensive, but have found that because it works so well that our overall cost is down! Highly recommend it.

Fresh-Step is the best litter out there, IMO, and I've tried many many different brands. Nothing else comes close to its' odor control or clumping.

Of all the brands of litter we tried, we like Fresh-Step multi-cat unscented litter best. All the litters we tried were scattered around a bit but this one is the least dusty and clumps real well. We don't use litterpans. We use large plastic totes. Less scattering and Zephyr doesn't urinate over the sides.

We use Tidy Cats. There's a new one with Glade. I tried the one with corn & pine in it but didn't like it. Hard to sweep up, got everywhere. Haven't tried the Kirkland brand. Had three cats along in 30' RV last year. Wouldn't recommend it. They did use the cat box though. In stick house, one of the cats has started going elsewhere & I've wanted to re-home her. She was piddling on our brand new living room carpet & my only solution was to put a cat box in the living room. I suggested it as a joke & husband liked idea. Now all three cats are liking living room box best. Ugh. So ashamed.

If you change litter, put a small amount (1/4 of what you would normally use - put new, 3/4 use old), of new mixed with old. Gradually as you change the litter, increase new litter. This will keep them from not using the litter box. If you find number 2 on the floor, with something covering it, next box leave out the new. Cats have various ways to show if they do not like something. Some cats don't like a certain kind of litter, don't like the feel on their feet.

If you change it everyday and use the clay litter, do the same substitutions.

Good luck. We use the Fresh Step and they have a new one now. So far they are ok with the new one.

Guess I was looking for someone who had used the Costco Kirkland brand and another comparative product and liked the other brand better.

Define "better." In what way? Cost? Absorbancy? Odor control? Environmentally sound? Biodegradable? Clumping? Non-clumping?

Not trying to be a jerk, just need a little direction answering the question is all.

I've never used Costco litter, so I would have no way of knowing.

"Better" is subjective.

Is there something specific you don't like about it?

If your cat(s) and the humans in the household are happy with it, then I'd stick with it.
