Propane Quick Connector hose to BBQ

GON2SKI

The AF 27-5L has a plug in quick connector feature (marked BBQ on the side of the trailer). I want to buy a hose to run between the Weber Q2200 connection and RV quick connector. Is this part available or is it something I need to have made up at a propane supply store?

I took my webber 100 and the quick connect hose that came with the trailer to my local BBQ shop down the street and told them I wanted a 20ft hose with same ends and with the quick connect on the webber and regulator removed. Done $80 parts and labour. Another option for those who don't want to mess with propane hose and fittings

x 2 If you don't remove the weber pressure regulator, you end up having two regulators as there is already one on your trailer propane system.

Found this great thread tonight after pulling my hair out over hose that doesn't fit. I have the trailer listed in signature. How do I figure out which type of quick disconnect it has?

My trailer's quick disconnect is a 5LPA and not the model 250 which is now standard. Yep, low pressure but they used a 5LPA, mbsturgis set me right, they are here also

It took me about 10 minutes using the Calore parts. There are two phillips head screws that secure the regulator assembly. Unscrew those and lift out the entire regulator assembly. Take a look at Rons email or my youtube and you can see how to do it.

Could be on yours, on the Webers the regulator simply screws off and you control the flame with the knob as usual. The regulator is no longer needed as you're taking regulated gas off most trailers with the quick disconnect they come with. If taking high pressure gas unregulated off the tanks with an Extend-A-Flow kit (like I did with my old trailer) you leave the regulator on.

You're correct. The Calore website I posted in my link has everything needed. They actually made a special quick disconnect fitting for the Weber that makes it simple and fits their hose perfectly. The only other thing you need is the Watts 1/8" coupler I also posted IF you are not going to put a shutoff at the Weber itself.

The length of the nose of the fitting that goes into the newer coupler is slightly longer. Just enough to frustrate us.

Simple job, but you need the right parts. Here's how I did mine:

Yes, that hose with connector is a stock item. Propane supply store is likely going to be unable to make one up for you, as they probably don't deal with RVs. @RVBill3 gave you the link.

@therink also is right. You will have to remove the regulator on the Weber, as the quick-connect offers already-regulated low pressure gas, and that won't flow through the second regulator at all.

Finally, although it is very unlikely you'll have a problem with the item from CW, be aware that the propane quick connect fitting is NOT the same as a similar compressed air fitting (in case you decide you'd like to get fancy on us), nor is it the same as an older propane quick connect fitting used as recently as 2007 on my TT. In fact, the two propane fittings look identical to the eye, they are just enough different that they will not engage each other. Stupid, I agree, but folks sometimes run into appliances/hoses/fittings that don't mesh, and this is why.

The hose should be available from places like Camping World. I think the hose you need is this one:

(This is not based on personal experience with that grill, so check for yourself if that is the one with correct connectors)
