I tried searching but wasn't able to find out much about tow mirrors for the Platinum. Just wondering if there are any Platinum owners out there and what they've found and happy with.

Thanks ...

FYI, ended up buying the inexpensive clip on mirrors. For now they seem to do the trick.

BTW, if the OP is looking to add the towing mirrors, check Ebay; there used to be a lot of the towing mirrors for sale by Tundra owners that wanted to switch back to the standard sport mirrors.

Or Tundrasolutions.com or Tundratalk.com. Lots of enthusiasts there and they have a marketplace on the forum. That's where I bought mine when I had a Tundra.

Thanks, I just thought someone here might have direct experience with a particular tow mirror for the Crewmax Platinum that they liked.

My 2007 Crewmax had the towing mirrors and they were great for towing. Though mine was an SR-5 and not a Platinum, I believe the mirrors are basically the same but not power-folding. Mine were heated which helps quite a bit.

I would go with OEM, I had some from 1A Auto and they vibrated so badly that I couldn't see out of them. Luckily, the new truck came with them.

What exactly about the Platinum are you interested in? I had OEM tow mirrors on my 2010 SR5 and loved them. They were literally plug and play. I took off the door panel access and removed 3 nuts and pulled off the original mirror, plugged in the tow mirror and tightened the nuts. Power adjustment and lights all worked.

I'm not sure of the difference between the SR5 and Platinum, maybe power fold. If your Platinum has power fold option now and you buy tow mirrors with power fold, it should all work.

The only difference with the mirrors for a Platinum is power folding. Doesnโ€™t seem like a bg deal but it is convenient and for us the mirrors have to be folded to get in and out of the garage. Later this year Ill drop the money for a set.

Toyota makes an OEM mirror with the power folding feature that matches the Platinum trucks but theyre about $350 each. Ive looked at some for our Sequoia but havnt wanted to spend the money. Otherwise you have to use a clip on mirror. There are some power folding aftermarket options but the reviews seem mixed to poor with the OEM being the better choice.

I found AERO 2 Towing Mirrors worked the best with the Sequoia.

However, I ditched them when I bought a trailer with a rear camera. With the camera on back of the trailer, the OEM side mirrors were fine and I could see what I never could see with any towing mirror, using the rear trailer camera LCD while driving.

I don't think the "Crewmax" really makes a difference? It's still a 2012 Toyota Tundra.

I typed that in and added "tow mirrors" on Amazon and 4 pages of examples showed up. Most of them are the big bolt on ones to the door, which I think you are interested in..

Good luck!

Was looking for tow mirrors for a Toyota CrewMax Platinum.

Yup, see you changed the title.
In that case disregard.

Yea I was confused by your answer. I didn't know Ford made a Crewmax Platinum, so I added the Toyota in the title.

Thanks anyway ...
