On my 2015 ram 3500 when I hit the horn there is a very short delay before sound. Any others experience that

only thing I have noticed is with the air bag it seems to take a lot more pressure to get the horn to honk. I don't think there is any delay just more pressure is needed to get the horn contacts to touch.

Also have not noticed any delay with the volume controls either on the steering wheel or the radio itself.

Normal and I hate it. The "friendly" little beep to get the driver ahead of me to pull their head out of their Iphone turns into an all out audible assault. It's probably going to get me shot.

The delay doesn't bother me. The fact I cant give a little toot, toot what's up chick bothers me. I toot mine and it honks for 2-3 minutes. No more toot, toot

Sure it is not a canna-bus issue?

First amendment... you can use whatever hand gestures you want in traffic... for now.

OP, yes, the canbus system is obnoxious sometimes, you get a slight delay in the horn.

Who even uses a horn anymore?

Isn't it against the law to toot ?

The only horns I hear are behind me, ..... I think?

Going out of the snowbird park and wanting to head West on 60 we have to run to the end of the solid white line, merge into lane one, then merge into lane two and then take the left turn land to the pass through between East and West traffic. All of this in a short distance or go a 1/4 mile to the light to wait to make a U turn. Chris

I got a truck that the horn goes off as soon as you push the steering wheel.
I will trade you. I can live on the edge with a half sec horn delay.

Same here on my new 2017. The delay is significantly longer than my previous 01 Ram which was instantaneous. I have assumed it is due to the complete electronic nature of the vehicle. It is long enough that it almost seems useless in an emergency situation as by the time it honks the issues is already over or to late to stop it. I guess that may be over dramatizing it but it is well longer than I would like.
My air horns that were on my previous truck will be going on in short order and will not be going through the oem horn circuit.

Just like fan and volume controls, turn the know and nothing happens for a second or two. Got to love these new computer controlled vehicles.

If the horn is on the body bus, the response should still be instant. Any delay is being introduced by FCA via software.

I'll have to see what my 17 2500 does.

There's an FCA tech center engineer on these forums, maybe they can shed light on the reason behind the delay.
