You will like the 865, I know we do and it does have all led lights inside and out. I had my dealer install my agm battery instead of a wet cell mainly because it is a real chore to access the battery and here in Arizona you have to constantly monitor the wet cells during the summer months. I use Stableloads and like the way they work, I'm sure air bags will work just fine for you also. I started with a 2008' Dodge Power Wagon 2500 and bought a Ram 3500 a year after hauling the TC with the Power Wagon. The PW did okay hauling the 865, but with the Ram 3500 you hardly know it's on there. The 2008' PW only had a payload capacity of 1800 lbs and my 865 wet and loaded is 2,600-2,700 lbs. I had added rear overload springs, rear stabilizer, Stableloads and Rancho 9000's on the PW to enhance the handling while the TC was on it. I had my dealer install a 100 watt solar panel and controller, it was $250 less than Lance and it is definitely a worthwhile addition. I also had my dealer put a 7 pin plug on the Lance power cable so I could plug it into my 7 pin receptacle in the bed. We have had the 865 for 2 years now and are very satisfied with our setup!

Maybe too much. The bed connection means they will be cutting into the bed of your new truck, making a spot for rust entry and making the bed less usable for other purposes that are likely to damage the connector. They will splice this connection into the wiring harness using undersized wire and Scotch-lok connectors ensuring inadequate charging voltage to your camper battery. Skip this step and ask for a Torklift cable long enough to reach the rear connection.

Probably want to include Stable-loads.

check with the lance dealer, I believe they are still using a bed connector that is only for lances. i had the camper harness installed at a former lance dealer and they installed the lance plug that did not work with a 7 pin male on the camper.

I would not go with air bags for a camper. If the truck needs more lift I would add SuperSprings. Cost is the same and nothing to adjust and nothing to break while traveling and they work a lot better as they only engage when the load requires the additional support. The only reason to go with air bags would be if you got a truck with rear coil springs instead of leaf springs.

I would wait until you have the 865 camper on the truck and verify that the factory springs are not enough. This camper has a dry weight of less than 2,000 lbs. and the factory suspension should be able to handle that amount of weight. Most current 1/2 ton trucks can easily manage that amount of weight in the bed.

if you don't have a sway bar you might consider installing one.

Happy camping Jfresh! Is that 865 prewired for solar? Just don't get the solar installed at the dealer. Crazy expensive! That 865 is my kind of camper. I like it.

The dealers have LEDs, but they are way overpriced.

If the camper doesn't have them from teh factory, get them from this online vendor

Ebay has Leds cheaper. Had them over 2 years and still work great.

If the unit doesn't come with the porch/steps that fit the truck height, add the glow step or something of similar quality.

Larger charge wire from truck to camper batteries. That might be the power cable that Artum Snowbird mentioned.

make sure the airbags are plumbed separately. Do you need a hitch extension?
see if you can get a reverse osmosis water filter for the galley. Full inside LED lights if it doesn't come with them.

I would go with AGM deep cycle batteries
