As for the boat, I wonder why they didn't trim those trees? That is too nice a boat to risk scratches from tree limbs!
Oh, and it looks like there are a LOT of tires under that trailer!

Maybe I'm getting my Mega's mixed up, so many lately :B

Distillation tower headed to the Canadian tar sands.

So that's the load I've heard about going through CDA? Then going through Lookout Pass? Heard they would need to shut down I90 for a while to make one of the turns. Sounds expensive. No wonder diesel fuel is so high :W

Looks like it will be an awfully tight turn.

Good photoshopped pictures! Every one in their right mind knows that if one is 100+ lbs overweight there is a major explosion and everyone within a mile of the rig is killed. Why, the photos are totally fake because if they were real the photographers and the cameras would be none existent.

Meh. That boat looks big, but this load is 350 ft long and weighs in at 901,000 combined, and is pulled primarily with a single tractor (I'm sure they used booster trucks for the steep climbs). And... They are taking the back roads through Eastern Oregon (26 & 395 then onto Hwy 12 in Idaho) because it won't fit on the Interstate. This was just the first of three with more to come later.

Like the Tundra pulling the space shuttle, GCWR really doesnt apply to this sort of job. Its more about the trailer, being assured the roads can handle said trailer with said load, and the TV having a super low gear mated to a super torquey motor.

That is basically about it.I see MAN,Scania, Mercedes towing 600+ tonne loads here in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. Usually more than one truck to ensure stability.

I think this is suppose to be a fun thread with a cool pic, but I'll chime in.

Like the Tundra pulling the space shuttle, GCWR really doesnt apply to this sort of job. Its more about the trailer, being assured the roads can handle said trailer with said load, and the TV having a super low gear mated to a super torquey motor.

With enough gearing, you can tow the world, if you have the time.

I hope they were biting after all that. :B

Not to mention the long wait nowadays in line when he gets to the landing.
Speaking of which, I always get a guy like this right ahead of me. By himself. In the rain. :W
