What % of TT owners have mice problems during ownership ? every few months I check for new acsess points and reseal. Bought Cab Kleen for mice from Tractor supply and found a mouse in a trap next to it. Seems it didn't replell the mouse. Have belly rechecked today for holes. It is a ongoing maintenance to keep mice away.

This is true. Two years ago a mouse got in our TT, wife is deathly afraid of them, so much so that when while we were camping one showed up one night on our kitchen counter. Well that was it, we had to go. Bought some traps at the local K Mart then drove 40 miles to home, without the trailer. Went back the next morning and had one dead mouse. The following weekend I go underneath the camper and could not find anywhere that a mouse could get in. So now I have to always keep two mouse traps baited and ready to go, that's mandatory or I camp alone. The next summer were camping again with the slideout open, and I just happen to be outside and looked down at the bottom of the slideout seal and notice part of it had been chewed away. BINGO!! so that's how he got in. So yes they can get in thru closed slideouts. Now I take steel wool and stuff it the corners, then pick it up from the outside when the slide is open.

Had a cat we never had problems with mice. I assume the mice could smell the cat. Two years after the cat died we had mice twice. Had to babysit son's cat. No mice, cat died, had mice again.
Read that you should put red pepper near places that you may had had mice acess. Tried that, put mouse traps in several places in trailer that husband checks every few days. No mice in traps. No mice damage.
We checked every place we though that mice could get in before first mouse and each time we had mice.
We had mice chewing on a sit by the fire throw and some toilet paper so we have been lucky.
The no mice since we have been using the red pepper may have been shear luck but you can buy red pepper at Dollar Tree. Other places also but for a lot more than a dollar.

I worked a a RV dealership for several years. I did everything except sell em. Each time we got a trade in it was inspected for expensive repairs. I found several odd things to keep mice away. Owners would take small jars similar to baby food jars and put cotton balls with moth balls or crystals in it and punched holes in the lid. It must have worked because I never saw a trace of one. I saw them placed in the water heater area outside, the fridge area outside, and compartments that you had to access outside. I've never had mice but I've had many ants that were hard to control.:)

We park out trailer most of the summer at the conservation club I belong to. It seems those mice are unstoppable. As fast as I repair the holes with gorrila tape they simply chew a new hole in the fabric. If the bottoms of trailers were more solid we wouldn't be having this conversation as often as we do.

Wait until it gets dark. Turn on the interior lights. Plug any spots that light can be seen. Use either the foam or real steel wool. Do not store food inside, keep the stove/oven/microwave clean. No grease or food anywhere. If you already have seen mice, use traps or sticky traps. Please, no more poison. The mouse eats it, runs off and dies, some other animal,(non-target) eats it. The environment is poisoned enough.

I had been parking my MH in my concrete driveway for 4 years never a mouse, then boom all of a sudden mice.

I lived rurally and the surrounding fields were planted in alfalfa. Then the ethanol boom hit and the farmer changed 'all' his fields to corn to grab the bucks.......THAT was the year I got mice. Worst damage, was they stored their corn INSIDE the workings of my generator, $450! Here's how much corn the mobile RV tech got out of my gen.

I am just a weekend camper. I never have mice problems because I store my Travel Trailer in my home shed and I keep hungry cats in the shed.

I have a slide and while I've had mice get in the underside area I've never had them get into the cabin. A slide doesn't automatically equate to mice getting in.
They did get into the last TT we had - which had no slide.

Depending were you store your RV. I use "Just One Bite". You can find it a horse/farm supply stores, some Tractor Supply Stores are now carry it.

You place it under the TT on all sides a couple of them down the long side. You will have NO mice.

Don't use this if you have a dog or cat that has access to the RV though.

Never had mice in any RV that I have owned in over 50 years. Ants yes.

It's almost impossible to stop mice from getting in. Three years ago my battery ran out in my carbon monoxide tester after closing up for the winter and the battery chirped all winter and we had no mice that year. So now when I close up I put old batteries in my carbon monoxide tester and it chirps all winter, no more mice inside our trailer. I put old fire alarms in my storage areas no more mice.
