No cut front receiver?

Has anyone seen an add on front hitch receiver for the Ram 2500/3500 truck that installs without cutting the air dam?

I don't have a problem drilling some holes into the compatibility brackets behind the bumper but I don't want to cut or remove the plastic air dam below the bumper or whatever it is.

All kits have you cutting a 2" notch in this for the receiver tube.

Through or under. Do you have the clearance for a PERMANENT fixture below it?

Do as you please, but consider this when making your choice 😉

Is Bodiak still in business? Their website seems out of date and their facebook page also doesn't seem to be getting much action. I've heard people on other forums complaining about purchasing and waiting and waiting...

Good bad right or wrong....air dams are there to create better aerodynamics, which equals better fuel mileage. We as buyers will be seeing this type of design into whatever we buy in the future.

I'd cut a hole!

I have a Chevy not a Ram. I had the choice of only cutting the plastic or popping a hole up higher, which also meant relocating the licence plate. I took the easy way out and now I am wishing I cut the hole because when I put the bicycle rack on the front I am worried about ground clearance to the bottom of the carrier.
Now I am trying to figure out if I should order a new hitch or modify the bike rack.:?

I have one on my 2017 RAM 3500. No cut and bolts right on. It is made by Kodiak. Spelled with a B not a K. The spell checker on my IPhone keeps changing it.

No. Probably because if one were to do that, it would end up being pretty low.

It's too bad, I think all the new pickups now have "sculpted" front bumpers that don't look right if the plastic/air dam is missing.
What happened to trucks being tough with high ground clearance, good approach angles and no extra plastic c rap hanging off of them, especially the bottom?

Cut it out.
