No fuel cap?

Not sure what Ram was thinking with not having a fuel cap for diesel fuel, especially at a time when engines are more sensitive to water and dirt contaminates. It would be nice to even have a locking fuel cover to keep unwanted access to fuel and def openings.
I purchased a push in green cap that has an o-ring to help keep stuff out but does nothing for security.

🙂 Hi, I still get out of my vehicle, but here in Oregon, it's against the law to fill your own tank.

Wow. That's just bizarre. Has it always been this way?

I've never heard of something like this in my life.

Since 1951.

You can always tell any RV'er from Oregon. They will pull up to a filling station and sit there..............and sit there......... and sit there...............waiting for service that will never come!!! :B

And this form a state that will allow assisted suicide but thinks you're too stupid to pump your own gas without blowing yourself up!!! :h

Lived in Oregon for many years ... I have done this on several occasions when traveling out of state (sat in the car for a minute or 2 waiting for the attendant).

Went for a road trip between Jr and Sr years of high school w/ a few friends to California. The Oregon native girl who's car we drove didn't know how to put gas in or work the machine!

But yeah, dumb law. Not sure why it ever started. 1 out of 20 attendants will wash your windshield, though.

Interesting TV show last night about baby boomers. Ford has auto engineers whose job it is to design ergonomics for the aging "baby boomer" population.

The cap less fuel filler appears to be one of them. We are a large majority buying their (all manufacturers) cars but we are also getting old and loosening and tightening a gas cap can get hard with our arthritic hands.

Another good reason to get a locking gas cap or fuel door. It keeps the monkey out until you are able to watch them (if not a diesel).

I moved away from Oregon back in 2000, and haven't really missed it.

People used to be employed to shovel horse waste before there was gas.

I don't agree with you and the marketplace has spoken. People prefer DIY.

They only pump gas in Oregon and do not clean your windows or check oil and air. Another exception: You can pump your own gasoline if you drive a motorcycle.

Because the lawmakers thought the good people of that state were incompetent to pump their own gas without blowing themselves up. If you've ever been to Oregon Don, you would.............awwwwww never mind. :B

Why you can't pump your own gas in Oregon.

I believe the truck owner can fill his truck if the fuel is diesel.
