Recommended camper for 2500 truck

We are considering purchasing a camper for our truck. We have a 2500 Dodge Ram quad cab with 6 speed diesel short box.

Are there any campers that would fit on our truck since it is a short box and a 2500?

Any guidance would be much appreciated.

I have a 2007 Dodge Quad cab short box with a Northstar 850SC and find the truck handles it well. The combination has taken me over 95,000 miles since 2008. Northstar is an excellent product that the company stands behind and is great to work with. In October I had a "problem" with a small tree and they fixed it the day after it happened despite the fact it happened on Friday afternoon (luckily I was within a 2.5 hour drive from the factory) As a result of their service I will be the proud owner of a new unit in May! I don't feel that you can go wrong with Northstar! Check them out.

We have a Lance 861 on a Ford F250. Added airbags and sway bars. Sure the weight police don't like it but we have been to Yellowstone, Glacier and the Grand Canyon plus probably 15 trips to East Texas to our daughter's house without any problems.

That's incredible , 22mpg loaded . What the heck does he get empty ?

Ticki, you have been here long enough to know . If you deploy the rear and side awnings they will act as sails to improve fuel mileage and often match that of an empty truck.

THANKS for all of your responses. We appreciate them. We are going to look at the Lance 825 today. There is a dealer that has two of them near us.

After that, we will locate the others that you recommended to see them. We plan to go as small and light as we can find.

Thanks again for your guidance.

Anything over 800lbs dry is NOT designed for a half ton truck. That is just marketing BS.

My lance 855S on my truck, which sounds like yours, does just fine. I beefed up the suspension some; sway bars, overload springs, tires.

Looks like this;

We have a Bigfoot 15C9.5 on a 2009 GMC 2500HD crew cab short bed truck. The 1500 series Bigfoot campers are designed for 1500 series trucks even though I don't think I would try it on anything smaller than a 2500. The Bigfoot works well for us on our 2500 hd

I've got a Lance 850. Works great.
Should mention it's in a long bed truck though.

Take a look at Northstar. They have several campers that could work.

We have a Northstar Laredo on a Chevy 2500HD and are just under the "recommended" weight. You would probably be over a bit but not too bad, just don't exceed tire or axle ratings.
