The wife has other plans for the weekend and the two small dogs will stay with her.

I plan on rolling out after work Friday and heading up hwy 4 towards Lake Alpine. Of course that todays destination du jour who knows what will strike my fancy tomorrow.

That's the best thing about going solo I don't have to have a plan, the boss: she has to have a plan and sticks close to it, me I like deciding on the fly.

Taking the Mt Bike and the Fly rod and waders, food for me and Jake and beer. It also means I will get home at O dark 30 Monday morning vs 5pm Sunday when out with the wife.

I'm back, lots of pictures have been processed in my photo editor and are now being uploaded to photobucket. Trip report shortly. Highlights airbags worked perfectly, repair shop done good. Lots of good hiking with my dog, excellent fishing aside from a nasty slip on some wet rocks that has me quite sore and broke off a section of my fly reel. All in all, me and Jake had a blast

oh man it's beautifull up here. got a nice site at lake Alpine and took Jake for a two hour hike scoping out fishing spots for the evening. Tomorrow we will drop down to Calavaras Big trees and fish the river

I was going to be off work by 5 on the road by 7pm,nope. Turned into a 14 hour shift from you know where. I got home by 9:30pm and I am way to tired to drive safely. Looks like I will roll out of here around 5am after some good sleep. Maybe I am getting smarter as I get older...naw

Jakes only problem is that he has doggie torrets, he is the most vocal dog I have ever owned. He is one happy pup and he lets you know it.
