Woo Hoo! Bought my first pickup truck!

Always owned cars & SUVs for personal use.
Had/have many 3/4 ton cargo work vans and a 1 ton box truck for my contracting business.

Just signed for my first Pickup truck ever. Getting it in two days.

Sheeze, pickups are way pricey compared to vans. Was in sticker shock when I started looking a few months ago, but I got over it.

Super hard pressed to find a - *ahem* - reasonably priced late model 3/4 ton truck here on Long Island.

2016 f250 XLT with just under 15k miles.

Carfax says it was a rental, but 2of3 valuations show higher pricing. So I *believe* I got a fair deal.

$1000 off sticker.
KKB lists +$7k
Edmunds lists +$2.5k
NADA lists exactly what I paid.

Anyway, real excited here - and DW loves it - so that's a lock!

Now, searching the web for a brake controller and running boards.

A truck, a camper, a few toys, but most importantly a wonderful family.

Congrats! We had a 2014 F250 that pulled our toy hauler travel trailer that was much heavier than yours very well, even up and down the Rocky Mountains. You'll really enjoy it. We only got rid of it so we could get a dually to prepare for our now current 5th wheel.

Yeah, so ignore my suggestion on the P2, I thought you needed a brake controller. Definitely use the integrated one!

Sounds like the salesman wasn't very good, "ABS adjustment" is right up there with "blinker fluid". Here is a link to the Owner's Manual, sounds like you'll need to do some reading to be sure you know how everything works.

Congrats on the new truck! The Ford IBC is about as good as it gets! I ordered my truck pictured, but could not get the black step bars from factory (chrome only). My dealer ordered them through Ford Accessories and put them on when truck arrived. They are a bolt right on (holes with plugs are already there) easy install, and say Ford on them. Here is a pic of step bars, they match mirrors/door handles, and IMO, black step bars look best on a white truck.

I think that truck has a factory installed brake controller. The pic of the AC controls shows -+ controls on the bottom left. That's a brake controller. I'd run with it, but the P2 is a fine unit.

Apparently, you are correct!

Honestly, I knew a bit more about the truck then the salesman did, just by reading up on most of the specs before I went there.

I specifically asked about the brake controller on the dash. He said he *believes* the controller in the truck is for the adjustment of the 'trucks' abs while towing and not for the trailer.

However, I just looked in the manual and it says it has and Integrated BC.

Wow. Anything else he told you is suspect now too.

:? There is no manual control for the ABS, it is computer controlled. That boy needs to brush up on his product knowledge. BTW, nice truck.
