The big difference that makes the Elevation better suited to haul a Wrangler is that it has 1" plywood in the garage. Every other toy hauler I know of has 1" OSB in the garage which over time can develope soft spots in the floor. The elevation is plywood throughout. When in doubt call Crossroads and ask to speak with your regions rep. directly. Our rep. showed me a picture of a jeep in the back of one and it fit nicely even though it was obviously lifted.

We are currently working on a deal for a Voltage 3818. We have been told that it will handle the weight of our 2014 Jeep Unlimited Rubicon (5000 pound, four door). Not sure I believe them. We have found that the ramp will tolerate 3000 pounds and have been told due to the space between the tires there would only be one Jeep axle on the ramp at a time in essence 1/2 the weight or 2500 pounds. They are assuring us that the interior garage (18 feet) can handle the weight of the Jeep. We know it will handle the length, height and width but I an concerned about the weight. We are going to insist on a test drive with the Jeep loaded in the back of the TH. I will post what our outcome is. Should be an interesting experience.

also run it over a scale when loaded
I know I was shocked when we did that with our toy hauler when we got it ๐Ÿ™‚

I have a 2007 WW CR3905 and haul a 2008 JK with no problem.

You do have to remember Gross Weigh, but the TH floor and back door are not a problem at all.

There are several people hauling heavier sand cars on a routine basis.

There was an old forum member (Jeepgeek) that had a TJ with a 4.5" suspension lift with a 1" body lift. He had a 2006 Weekend Warrior. If I remember correctly Weekend Warrior offered option for added strength for this reason.

Do a search using jeepgeek and you should come across his pics. I think he had to air down to get it in.

Here's a link to old discussion. Link

VRV made one that a guy hauled his jeep in. Obvious benefits with the VRV is no rot or rust just good solid aluminum construction with no wood anywhere in it!
Check out both Livin Lite VRV and VRV XTR, they are not the same. The XTRs are made a little better and have better installed items. They both have a Facebook page and a website.

Work and Play will. I had a 30' bumper pull with a 16' garage I hauled my Wrangler unlimited w/ 34' tires and 4" lift and now I haul it in a Work and Play 44rls with a 20' garage and a 8,000# payload.

Call the factory, verify this. Personally I'd want it in writing myself.

Specs online say Cargo Capacity 4,797# then another says 5,344#, so I don't know which is accurate. But if your Rubi is 5,000# (which is realistic) that leaves you either being over capacity or with in 344# of meeting the cargo capacity - that's for everything in the RV too including food, water, waste, etc. I couldn't find any thing about ramp weights, again get it in writing from the factory.

That's also a lot of weight behind the vehicle, I'd sure want to make sure before I bought that it didn't adjust the pin weight too.

I would think getting out of it would be tuff after driving it in?

Also, I assume no beds?

I say this because my Mule is a tight fit.

A friend has a Forest River he had built to haul a rock crawler. No slides, just straight to the kitchen. It origanally came with 2 axles and they added a third.3-7k axles, and they increased the size of his I-beams to hold the weight. He still had to change his tires to get it in the back door, way too tall.

A stock Jeep Wrangler TJ has a curb weight of 3092lbs-3857lbs. Looks like they vary alot with the different options.

Bigger tires, winch, afermarket bumpers and the weight will add up quickly.

Best thing to do would be to take the wrangler and weigh it.
