We use two sets of twin sheets to make the king bed in our Roadtrek. We make the bed and leave it made up for the trip. It is a bit of a circus act to get the bed made and the sheets tucked around all corners, but it can be done. We do not have the power sofa bed so all we are dealing with are assorted cushions put together to make up the mattress. The power sofa bed is harder to make with sheets and that is where the sheet sacks are good to use - though since so many with the sofa bed put a gel foam mattress pad on top, regular sheets could be put on that pad.

Yeah, a Travasack is really handy when there's not enough room to make the bed, because you can just kinda give it a big fluff/shake and smooth it out.

We bought a SuperBag - with the upgraded sheets and are very pleased with it. I put off the purchase for awhile, but I am glad I made the plunge.

Good point Northern Virginia. But it seems that just some sheets sewn appropriately, then whatever over you for warmth as needed would be quick and require less storage space.

Travasak was out of business when I was buying, so I went with SuperBag, despite the added cost. Convenience was the biggest factor. Regular sheets would make it difficult to make the bed given the tight quarters, and sleeping bags are harder to wash than the removable sheets of the Travasak or SuperBag. Convenience is a big factor if you're making up the bed for each use.

I have never understood these travasak things?

I don't use one at home, so why would I want one in my B?

I've backpacked for a week or more up and down mountains with packs (30 years) and would Never use one. I used a sleeping bag Because of the lighter weight.

Why would I want to get Into Something on my bed at home or in a B?

I make up my B bed just like my home bed (virtually the same mattress too), with sheets and whatever to go on top for warmth. Me, I like down for reduced weight, the greatest temperature range comfort, etc.

I don't get it.

I'd really like to know if the quality is the same as the old Travasaks before buying one. I had been almost ready to pay the extra $100 for an RV Superbag.

I suspect it is a completely new company making them that bought the rights to the Travasak name.

From the link, it appears that they might be back in production. It would be nice to buy one queen sized one, and a few of the inside linens so there is a clean one at the ready if need be.

I've got one of the originals and I like the ability to remove and wash the sheets. But, I camp at all times of the year and I was disappointed there there isn't a bigger difference in warmth/comfort between the summer and winter sides. Also the zippers seem to always get hung up in the flaps on the side which are there to try and block the airflow thru the zippers. I still use it, but now I also just toss in a good sleeping bag for summer or winter depending on when I'm camping. The Travasak is a great idea but I think it needs some updates.

Our queen size Travasak will be 9 years old in July and looks brand new. Recommended it to many friends and they are just as pleased. It has to be one of the best purchases we've made for our 05 LTV.

I wonder if they're back in production, or if CW is just clearing out their left-over inventory (sizes & colors that didn't sell)? Mine are 8+ years old and still holding up, knock on wood (taps skull lightly, 'Dang, got a splinter!').

I wonder if the new ones are the same high quality as the old ones were. We loved the old ones.

That's good news. The last I heard they had gone out of business.
