Winnebago - Defective and Deceptive

The decals on my 2014 Winnebago are failing. I asked Winnebago to replace them after my dealer (last year) said Winnebago said no. Well they also said no to my letter requesting help (yes, I am past the one year warranty). They just left a message on my phone no letter. As for the Decptive when I bought the RV new Winnebago advertised the motorhome had to battery shut offs (advertising in both on line and written info). The RV did not have both shut offs, and no they did not change their spec's, they only advertised both and now refuse to pay for the shut off they advertised but did not include. This will not be my last motorhome but deffinitely my last Winnebago.

Winnebago has not been deceptive as to the standard features and options available on your motorhome. You've gone down this road before as far as trying to convince us that your motorhome is supposed to have a chassis battery shutoff switch. This is at least the 6th time you've made this statement. Continuing to say it doesn't make it any more true now than it was the first time. If you had read the "online and written information" you would clearly see that in the Specifications section of the 2014 Vista brochure the Electrical System section reads: "Battery Disconnect System (chassis) NA 26HE, 31KE. The NA means NOT AVAILABLE".

Here's a link to the 2014 Vista Brochure:

http://winnebagoind.com/resources/brochure/2014/2014-Vista-Digital.X.pdf

There have been no changes in either this online document or the printed version. Winnebago orders these brochures prior to the release of the model year, and doesn't make any changes.

Since your first posting on this subject several people including myself have alerted you to the section in the online and printed documents that contradicts what you are saying. It's time to admit you made a mistake and move on. Winnebago certainly is not going to install or pay for the installation of a feature that was never included on your model motorhome.

Sorry about your decals, but the shutoff is likely as a result of a recall from Ford on previous RV's using the F53 that the BCC can fail and leave you with no power to the chassis. During driving this could be catastrophic. So Ford no longer includes a shut off for the chassis batteries, only the house. So this is a Ford thing, not Winnie and it affects all manufacturers. They should update their documentation but I have seen a lot of gaps in every brands specs so nothing new here.

huh? our 2016 Itasca Suncruiser 38Q (Winnebago product) on the Ford F53 chassis has two battery shutoffs...one for the chassis and one for the coach...and they both work. :h

Maybe they fixed the issue. My 2012 had both, received a recall and they removed the chassis one. My 2013 does not have the chassis disconnect because of the recall. Perhaps by 2016 they worked it out. Point is, if it doesn't have one, it's not a "miss" on the build. In 2014 there is a reason it did not have one.

Our 2013 F-53 Itasca has both and no recall.

I have a 2011 ford do I need to call Ford to see if I am in the recall. As far as the stripes on the side . I had it fixed at the factory to fix the front fender they did it for 140 dollars. I saved some cash and used the wife,s hair drier and go gone to remove it before we left for Forest City . Hope this helps.

Ronnie, you sure know how to give a guy hope! But your right, know matter how bad something is there is always someone struggling with worse problems.

I should have added the laughing face to show it was said as a joke. :B

Actually if you read the Winnebago brochure, it states that 'Battery disconnect system (chassis) (NA 26HE,
31KE)
Battery disconnect system (coach) ' is not available on the 26HE model.

Can't say much about the decals, All but one on our 06 Outlook are in perfect condition.

There's an easy fix for decals.... Keep them out of the sun. It's obvious you haven't looked around at the competition.

As for the shutoff, if you want one, install it and quit complaining about it two years later. If the coach is such a nag, sell it and try to find one better at the same price point. Not one is close to perfect.

I had separate disconnects on my 2012 Vista, 2015 Sightseer and 2016 Suncruiser. Never heard about a problem with them.

The current year model of your MH does not list separate disconnects. This is why you always find this disclaimer;

"Winnebago® reserves the right to change décor materials and specifications without notice or obligation". You won't win no matter what you do and you have no recourse except your purchasing power. All makers have this disclaimer.

As for the decals, if mine fall off today it's one less thing I will need to be concerned about.
