Who uses them and how do you clean them - how often? I bought an 8x20 to go under the awning. A friend had one and i liked it but now husband not so much. He is concerned how to store and clean.

I do use mats when I'm on a gravel site,, but on a sand site they gain way too much weight (mine can be washed out though) and on grass,,, Well i do not like what they do to the grass. But I have a mat I use on gravel or desert sites. I could use it on the site I'm on save.. Well.. Terraced and I'm basically 8 inches from the edge.
Home was where I park it. but alas the.

I bought my share of RV mats. Don't use them anymore. They are fine if you are going camping for just the weekend.

I full time and I quickly found out that if it rains and the site you are on gets muddy etc. you now have to put that heavy nasty stinky wet mat into your storage bays.

Being on the road it never dries out and stinks up your storage bay and takes up all the room in your storage bay! If you week end camp you bring it home in 2 days. Albeit you still have to put that nasty mat some where in your RV when you leave.

I finally bought shade cloth from one of the box stores. I had one cut the full length of the MH. Light weight, water goes right thru it, you don't slip on it when it gets wet like the RV mats, and if it does get wet hanging it in the sun for 5 minutes completely dries it.

Best part? It folds up into a 12 inch square 2 inches thick for easy storage.

I bought a second one to hang from my awning if parked in the sun. Airs still comes thru but blocks the heat.

Comes in different colors to match your RV! :W

Bought our mat from Walmart and use it on every trip, will be buying a second one before we start heading to the lake. They help keep the dogs clean and keep out most of the dirt in the fiver. It only takes a few minutes to pack up and if wet when we leave we just hang it up to dry when we get home.

I am not sure what it is called, but I have a family member who works in a paper mill. They have this material that is like a woven plastic. They have to change it out frequently. This stuff is great! It is the same size as my awning. It is porous so water goes right thru it. You can easily sweep it or like I do, blow it with a small leaf blower. If we happen to take up in the rain, I just roll it up with the dirt and all. It rolls into a 6 inch roll and I just throw it on the back bumper.

We have a one of those woven polypro ones that we got on sale at Camping World. We use it when we're parked on dirt so that the dogs stay *marginally* cleaner when they lie outside.

We brush it off with an old plastic brush and then roll it to store it.

We have a rug, it is a woven one from Camping world. Nice size. We find it very enjoyable. Easy to take care of, you can use a broom on it or if need be hose it off. Will fold or roll to be stored when traveling. Our first RV was travel trailer with one pass threw storage unit. It took little space to put there. I find sitting up chairs on rug with table makes a very comfortable place to sit, helps with bugs, keeps dirt from tracking in RV. If you have children or grandchildren it's a win win. Rugs are for anywhere you want to have them, home and camping ๐Ÿ™‚ . Enjoy your journey!

Hi before I became disabled and now have sites w concrete pads I use indoor out door carpet and because I have a truck if need be I can put it away in the bed and take it home a spray it down w hose and dry it out and fold it up again. As for the indoor outdoor carpet killing grass yes if left down for long periods it will as no sun no grass but a typical weekend or a week or two I don't think so and yes I have used mine that long. And if needed I can use mine on the concrete pads to help control the dirt that otherwise would be in the TT. And I won't kill any grass either :B

We have a poly woven type. Just spent 3 months in FL Grass was starting to grow up through it. They were made about 6 miles from where we stay and a lot of people in the park used them. I also have one of their sunshades.

You can call Beasley Mfg in Center Hill, FL on Tues-Wed-Thurs between 9am and 3pm at (352) 793-5055. They only operate from Nov 1-Apr 30.

Small local company. No web site they can probably mail a flyer with info. They make sunshades, grass mats and windshield covers. They don't take credit cards or debit cards either.

I have no affiliation other than using their products.

Wellllllll I've been camping with a plastic fold-able rug ever since I worried that my tent's floor was too thin; as a side benefit there's less need to sweep the tent's floor daily. My current plan is to use a few door mats at the TT's entrance(one outside, one inside) to keep exterior dirt at a minimum and one scatter rug next to the bed for comfort. I bought my same as RV store's ugly patterns rug online from either QVC or HSN. Cost much less than the RV shops. Wish I'd seen this website before I bought since they have a nice selection of patterns and colours:

I clean my rug with a hose and Dawn. Easy peasy.

We use ours sometimes depending on the ground surface, it helps keep from tracking so much dirt, ect into the 5er. When we leave if it is wet or dirty I fold it up throw in the back of the truck and when we get home I throw it on the clothesline and rinse with the garden hose and let dry, then fold up and put back in the storage compartment. ๐Ÿ™‚

Really...stay home?
Good grief...spilled your bowl of Cheerios this morning did you?
X-2, I use mine when on dirt, sand, or fine gravel, especially if it's rained, helps keep the mud out of the MH.

Spilled cornflakes too. Hate being the next guy on site after somebody with a mat has been there, put it ontop of grass, killed the grass, & left a mud pan with worms & whatever else nasty behind.

If anything besides gravel or dirt, have some thought for the next user of the site.

Maybe his cat pee'd in his cereal - just joking hehe... We have camped both ways big time in our golden days... Not anymore now... Gotta sleep in my bed and watch some NCIS or WALKER Texas Ranger before going to sleep...

To each his own I reckon...
We had great times tent camping next to a creek back in those days...
