Progressive EMS Trouble

I need some help. I'm here in Myrtle Beach and it's hot as blazes. About 10:30 last night, our EMS system shut down the air conditioning and the televisions and all the electrical outlets. I went out to the box and everything looked okay. No error readings that I could tell. We unplugged it and then put it back in to the outlet box. We went back in and waited for it to kick back on. When nothing happened, we went out and plugged it into the rv and started the generator. None of the systems that the EMS had shut down came back on. So we plugged it back into the post hoping it would do it's thing. Nothing has happened. I just called Progressive technical support so hopefully they can help. Have any of you had this problem or know of any helpful suggestions.

I must have missed where the OP said there was a display...:h:h...I, too think it's their main breaker that popped.Dennis

If you are in the Myrtle Beach KOA they definitely have a dangerous low voltage problem. We were there a couple of weeks ago and one afternoon our EMS kicked off so we turned off the AC and WH and after a bit the power came back on. I have a volt meter plugged in so I saw that the voltage was way down in the red zone. After a little while when I saw the voltage come back up to acceptable levels we turned things back on. The next morning our EMS kicked off again so we packed up and left. I have sent an email to the campground to tell them of our experience.

Something else to consider: My EMS is programmed to wait 2+ minutes before powering on. I'm sure Gail isn't so impatient she didn't wait that long before giving up, but it's worth mentioning.

The EMS does show something on the display though, so this is not likely to be the cause.

No. If that was the case, there would be no readout on the EMS.

Low voltage threshold for a Progressive unit is 104 vac ... sounds to me like the OP's performed exactly as it was designed to do. Hopefully they'll post back with an outcome.

Have you tried resetting the breakers? Breakers can trip and not look like they are tripped. I would open the breaker then close it again. You should feel a distinct click if it closes. I would think that it would be the breaker on the CG pedestal that tripped. JMO

Most likely tripped a breaker. Turn as many electrical hogs off as possible (WH, Refrig, AC). Switch the breakers all off and then back on adding one at a time before attempting to restore power to those appliances.

Which Progressive unit do you have?

What did its display show as an error message?

Since nothing came back on with the generator, I am also betting on the main 30 amp breaker tripping.

Your main breaker in your RV has tripped.

As stated earlier the Progressive unit should be displaying a code - most likely low voltage since everyone is running their air conditioners and the campground electrical system is not up to it. Most Progressive units will shut down the power when it gets lower than about 108V, anything lower will harm your Air Conditioner.
