Are used sewer hoses a prized commodity?

Is there a particular reason why people would want to take a used stinky slinky? The endcaps on the bumper storage are on, so it didn't blow out while on the road.

So far, in my time of RV-ing, this has been my only loss to theft. Once, I understand, but twice, I am clueless.

Wow, a few years back somebody made off with my portable tote, and I thought was strange.

Well....did she know where you loft it? lol

Someone who would steal a used dump hose is probably the same type who steal plastic flower displays from a grave site and try and sell it at a flea market.

I'm glad I keep spare sewage hoses. The cheapie out of my bumper was technically a "backup". My main hose is a Valterra Dominator, the fittings are too large to go into the bumper storage, so it lives in a plastic tub in a storage compartment.

I could consider adding some form of lock to the bumper storage... but the lock would be more expensive than a replacement cheapie hose.

If this keeps up, it won't be long till someone has one heck of a rig for free.

It likely fell out on the road somewhere, and a good samaritan put the cap back on for you when you were stopped.

Or one could be pro-active: A well placed wad of toilet paper covered with peanut better hanging over the end cap should be a deterrent.

Your decision: creamy or chunky!

Some people will steal anything. I don't really like what I'm proposing but...there are a lot of people, out of work, who travel in their RVs taking what jobs etc they can... and they need a new hose an no money, who knows.

OK that makes more sense. They see you parked there full time. (or almost full time) They go to dump their rig. Their hose is bad, or they forgot it at the last site, and you are a easy target.

Heck, the might be sneaking that thing out of there when you are inside the camper. lol

The only way to solve it is to store the hose somewhere else until the nest time you get on the road.

Just don't rinse it out next time. Guaranteed to be there when you get back to it.
