Sometimes we call our's a camper, RV, M/H or Money Pit. We also refer to it as a coach once in a while. No harm No foul.

I would take issue with one poster who said something along the lines of if it's $400,000.00 it's a coach. Now that's "PRENTENTIOUS" by definition.

Personaly, I con't care what someone borrows from the bank to buy their $500,000.00 PLUS Motor Coach. They have to make the payments not me. For me my 2002 Motorized Trailer has one big advantage. I have the title to it...
What about the many who pay CASH for their million dollar rig? Are they "PRETENTIOUS" by definition?

This is the same OP who just had a thread closed about how an owner of a Prevost was supposedly displaying "Arrogance Personified" when they were talking to their neighbor. Now people who call their RV a "coach" are being snobs. Perhaps the OP just has a problem with people who have had more financial success then they had. Isn't jealousy one of the seven deadly sins?

Seriously? You think I am worried? I mislead! Just stirrin' the pot.

Seems to have worked!

And yep, I still find it pretentious.

LOL, reading this thread is like coming in during the middle of a conversation. I don't have a clue what anyone is talking about and it just gets more confusing as I go along.

Had an acquaintance when we lived in CO who bought a used Prevost. It had no slides and was - to be polite - very well used. And not real big. And older.

The rest of us had 5ers or travel trailers. We paid far more for our units - most of us - than he did for his.

He REALLY got upset if his was called ANYTHING but a coach. After all, he was a retired attorney from New York City.

So we all called it his MO HO for motorhome. He would grit his teeth when he heard that. And we would chuckle.

I find calling it a "house battery" a bit ridiculous, since it's not a 'house'. But it sure is the clearest way of identifying which one you're referring to.

I use the term with clients to define between the coach and the chassis of any motorhome including Class A, B and C,s. I've never heard of that term being considered "pretentious". What would make it so.

Seriously? This is all you have in life to worry about? There's nothing pretentious, snobby, or anything about it. It's a word, a noun, that has multiple meanings much like the rest of the English language. Try worrying about something IMPORTANT.

When we had our class A motorhome, we never called it a 'coach'. As with all our RV's, we called it the camper. We never felt the need to use the word 'coach'; we were not trying to impress anyone. If makes someone feel better calling their MH a 'coach', so be it.

That's like saying travel trailers and 5th wheels aren't RV's (Recreational VEHICLES).
