Fold Up Treadmill for 07 Allegro Bus 42QRP

I'm looking for a fold up style treadmill that'll fit in the coach and be small enough and light enough to move where I need it when we're rolling. Anyone have any experience and suggestions? We're walkers not runners so we don't need a heavy duty running machine. Just a 4-5mph walking machine ๐Ÿ˜‰

Do a search for foldable electric treadmill on Walmart and Amazon. They each have a 500W treadmill in the $200 range. The one on Walmart is a bit cheaper and has better reviews. 53 and 56 lbs respectively.

I have mild COPD, and foot problems. I tried a treadmill, but it aggravated my foot issues. I decided to try an elliptical machine, but the size and cost ($400-600+ _used_) of them was off-putting.

I got really lucky... I was waiting to talk to the salesdroid at the local second-hand sporting gear shop when a guy brought in the smallest elliptical machine I've ever seen. It was brand new, never used. It's an "Eclipse 1100". I got it for $149. Retail is about $250+.

(Sorry, this model doesn't come with that model....;))

It does not fold, and it is heavy, but has rollers. It's a bit awkward to mount and dismount. It does have some bad reviews for breakdowns, but I've had no issues at all. It's compact and can be used for a legs-only workout that simulates a high-stepping walk, holding the stationary inner grips.

Dunno if this does you any good or not. Hope you wife has a speedy recovery.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've heard ginger is good for nausea. The acupuncture seems to have solved the problem for her. We have had 3 treatments now and each time it has gotten better and gone away for a longer period than the previous time so we're hopeful that it'll just disappear in time. She's on a lot of heavy duty meds, but our systems adapt in time.

I've seen the manual ones, but we want an electric one and wobbly is on in the list of desired features.

magnusfide - thanks for the suggestion. Different things work for different folks. I don't think she'd get into that much but she likes walking on the treadmill in rehab so that's why I settled on getting one. We'll get it puzzled out and I'm sure I can handle the wrestling it around for now at least.

Take care and best to you and your wife.

John Ewing: an alternative is to make a cd or playlist of her favorite tunes at the speed she can manage. Then she can march in place like they do on those exercise vids. My wife did something similar when she was recovering from her cancer treatment. By doing a box step and simple marching she was able to put strength back into her leg muscles.

The bonuses: it didn't involve expensive equipment to wrestle. It only cost the amount of time to assemble her play list on iTunes; the music lifted her mood so it sped her healing process (music therapy is supported by solid research).

Prayers for your wife's rapid recovery.

No help with the folding treadmill, trkhelp. Had one once (I live in an apt and hoped the folding aspect would give me more living space)...it was by a company named Sun or Sunny. Wobbly and track wasn't smooth. Also it was manually operated and I'd become used to the electronic versions at the gym.

As for your DW's nausea try a glass of hot ginger tea in the morning. Or a piece of candied ginger.
May you both be your best soonest:).

Thanks for the replies -
" Not trying to be smart or disrespectful but why not just go outside and do your walking. " see below -

"There is probably a reason why they need an treadmill, which is why they are asking.......wow! " Thanks, and you're right there is and thanks for realizing that....

Wife used to have COPD and we did go outside and lug the oxygen around with us. Job for the 'beast of burden':D In fact she was fairly active until the last couple of months when she started going downhill pretty fast.

Now she has 'transplant', a new and different kind of disease, but she can breath again :D. The anti-rejection drugs and some of the others, among their other side effects, cause heat sensitivity, so if we go out before the suns up she can tolerate it but once the suns up going outside for more than a couple minutes is suffering. So we need the treadmill to be able to walk inside when we're trapped somewhere hot which we are right now. She's at the Mayo Clinic 3 to 5 days a week until this recovery process is over.

Double lung transplant 4/18/14, hard recovery with severe nausea for the first 2 months - everything she takes, and there are 20 drugs on the list at the moment, has nausea as a side effect. Acupuncture turned out to be the eventual answer and that has fixed the nausea. Now we're working on putting the 20 pounds back on with a very high calorie/protein diet and exercise to get the wasted muscle back. So exercise is very important and the treadmill would make it so she could get that wherever we are, hot, cold, rain, snow, whatever.

We just got back from going outside for a morning walk. A mile in 25 minutes - she started at 1/4 mile in 25 minutes. As of this morning 101#, so 9 pounds back and about 10 more to go. So she's making headway on both fronts and finally starting to feel better. So we're thankful that we got through that tunnel and are enjoying each moment we get.

I have Googled and there are several possibilities, but you can't tell online what the quality of things are if you can't see them first and at $500 to $1000 I'd prefer not to get a piece of junk. Most stores don't carry the 'portable' types of treadmills so finding one to look at is hard.

You're right under the bed is not a possibility - but if we could figure out how to carry 3 oxygen reservoirs, think 3 household size water heaters about 3 feet tall each, around I think I can figure out how to store a treadmill if the size is reasonable. Was just hoping someone on the forum might have had some experience with one and know of something that would fit the bill. Nothing like an endorsement from a satisfied user.

For those of you who like to walk outside - I'll see you out there if you get up early. I do 3 or 4 miles a day 5am - 6am most days. But that treadmill might work when it's pouring out - be nicer than the rain suit lol

Thanks again for the posts and y'all have a wonderful day, a safe trip and remember smiles are free - be generous with them.

You might want to try Googling for folding treadmills. Here's one site that came up:

Folding treadmills

Treadmills can be very heavy to move around and they can be expensive. If you stay at RV parks some have an exercise room with treadmills. Perhaps that would work for you.

My first thought is to agree with jack diane freedom but if that is not a possibility for some reason, AND you travel with a towed, might just find one that will fit in the towed when traveling. Doubt if ANY of them will be all that convenient but should be able to find one that's POSSIBLE.

seems to me from the ads on TV that the ones easy to stow are designed to slide under the bed which is impossible in most RVs. I think a bicycle type exerciser would be more practical in a RV. some include steppers, etc.
