Another member suggested a new forum section with new products but it doesn't look like it will be feasible. So I thought I would post this here under General RVing Issues. If enough people post (even if you have mentioned it before in another post) we can keep it near the top?

Do you have a handy hint, a new product or an old product that makes your RVing or Camping much better?

I'll start:

Someone in the Camping Van posted a reference to using a Super-Chamois to wipe down their shower. I have been using an icky old thick sponge and I like the chamois idea so much more.

Now I want to hear what works for you

Wow, I finally made it through the whole thing! Many thanks to all who have contributed. My husband and I will be picking up our first TT on April 30th and I have collected many tips and ideas that will be put to use. Hopefully I will be able to contribute in the future.

Washing those huge front windows on the motorhome is a real pain. Reaching up with a normal stick about 4 feet long with a squegee to wash the bugs off is difficult at best. I bought a painters pole that easily reaches to the top while I stand several feet in front which keeps the water off me and gives me great leverage to press on the bug scratcher side of the squegee. The long pole is great for washing the sides too when I put a brush on the end. Once done the pole will collapse. The quality of the pole is worth the money and I can press hard without fear of bending or breaking it. Wish I had thought of it years ago.

We pack a fold up rack for a couple of outing where we are camped in fields that are usually mowed within a week of when we all arrive, so a little racking is usually needed to get rid of the brush around the camper. We don't carry it all the time.

All we have is a cheapy broom and dustpan. If I need to work roof level, I back the truck up close and stand on bed rail. Never had a need to get on the roof while camping.

Heck I have a TT so I look around for a 5er as they seem to carry 8' step ladders and if I need to do something at the awning or near roof I borrow one.
Now I know you guys are carrying lawn equipment heck I'll be in fat city!

I don't get it. RVing is supposed to be a vacationy kind of thing. Why would anyone on vacation want to do yard work chores?
If the park doesn't want leaves on the ground let THEM rake them!

I carry a rake and the last trip out had to use it just to get the area around the fire pit clean so there was no chance of spreading fire. Very little weight and comes in handy from time to time.

Not all folks RV for just a weekend. We live in an RV park right now and I don't want leaves around my patio or walk areas. I don't want them around my grill or campfire.

We use these too! Found ours in the toy section at Walmart!

We love our folding leaf rake that we bought at a garden center. Very strong and it folds up lengthwise and widthwise.

Similar to last post, we carry a child sized leaf rake. Handy for clearing leaves away, stores easy.

Childs broom! Very little space or weight, easy to handle in confined quarters, stows almost anywhere and can use with one hand. Actually found ours in an oldtime hardware store.

If you have a gmail account, check out the google docs function. You can upload any of your docs you need and they're available anywhere you can access google. No need to go sifting through email to find your documents.

I don't sift -- I have a folder marked 'rv info'. Bingo Wingo. Right there!

I like to wipe down the shower with the bathroom hand towel that was used that day. Then into the laundry bag it goes. Once done, new fresh towels are hung in the bathroom.
