R V prices are up

We just attended the Spokane RV show, and really enjoyed the event. My heartfelt comment on the show is that the prices have increased 10%-15% from last year. Their "show" prices seem to be out of reality compared to the economy. However, that being said, while we were there, I believe 4 units were sold.
We did have a great time and are ready to hit the road when the thaw happens. See ya out there.

The overall sales numbers have been increasing over the past couple of years, so the prices have increased and the discounts aren't as great. It seems that many of the big advertised discounts became less after 2011 as sales improved.

I get emailings from CW. The MSRP on the same RV changes from email to email. RV show discount must be a number obtained from a spinning wheel. Any business will increate their prices, then lower them, calling it a sale or discount. I called out my salesman on price fluctuation and got up to walk away when they would not haggle with me. Didn't get out the door before being called back - well, we did linger for a minute...

Friends of ours sold their TT in 3 days, not all bad news with prices going up, more incentive for newbys to get one used.

The past two years, the show discount isn't reasonable. Our trailer now costs twice what it cost six years ago! Really?
I wonder if the Baby Boomer movement is a reason.
Anyway, we had a very good time at the show!

Could be baby boomers. At least at this RV show.

I donโ€™t know if there is a best time of the yearโ€ฆ it would depend on the individualโ€ฆ end of year means settling for what you can find, and if you can findโ€ฆ then the dealer has his cost and the yearsโ€™ worth of floor plan to recoverโ€ฆ I never saw much value in show pricing unless there was a significant manufactures incentive thrown inโ€ฆ

If there is a best time I think it is ordering new just as the model year is changingโ€ฆ when you get next yearโ€™s model at this yearโ€™s pricingโ€ฆ your trailer is always a year newer for trade or sell purposesโ€ฆ I bought my 2000 in 1999 and my 2004 in 2003โ€ฆ I donโ€™t think I paid any premium for doing soโ€ฆ

You could have said the same thing in 1965โ€ฆ or just pick a year and you would be rightโ€ฆ

way better for end of year specials.

Show prices are *ALWAYS* smoke and mirrors!..:(

The higher the posted/supposed MSRP the better (higher) the discount ("show special price") the dealers can offer the show goers.

If you are willing to *order* an RV (vs buying from dealer stock) - the "deals" are always there!..;)

What's in a name? (Nothing really - it's just a catchy dealer name).
As the delaer called "rvwholesalers" gained popularity - "shoppers" believed the name said it all.
Then -(3 years ago")- and now.....there were, and are - other dealers who would match or beat rvwholesalers price.

You just need to put out the effort (the internet is your friend) to find one..:)

Went to the Atlanta RV Show, yesterday (Friday) opening day.

Agree, pricing seemed up, although I did not agressively look at Trailer and Fiver deals.

Have noticed last 2 years, TT prices going up, up (along with more slides, larger fiver setup), but now see TT with MSRP in mid $40's & up (MSRP, selling in the $30's).

Currently looking to jump from a TT to a Class C.
Here is Atlanta, Class C's, pretty minimal (in stock, options), so I noticed pricing discounts, weak, versus traveling out of the aera. One Atl dealer, has been adverstisng some particular Class C's in the upper $70's, show SPECIAL $1,000 off......humm, now I assume this gives plenty of room to go down & give a real deal, if serious. BTW: same unit, approx 600 miles away, can be had for about $10k lower.

The whole pricing of RV's is very fickle, and you need to do a lot of research and know the market, demand, how long they have had unit, etc.....

I thought the same thing after visiting the Tampa RV show.

We looked at the same model Greyhawk Class C motorhome that we have (2009 31FS) in the 2013 version. The MSRP was almost $12k more than the MSRP of the 2009 we bought.

The show discounts did not seem to be as steep as I've seen in the past. We weren't looking to buy, just interested in what new is out there. It doesn't seem like much has changed over the last few years.
