So Surprised! I'm speechless!

I have a Barker 32 gallon blue tote that has traveled the pavement several hundred miles from campsite to dump station over the last 15 years or so. I had to replace the standard factory wheels once, but the tote is still going strong.

I used it at home this last week-end and realized the valve gate is now leaking. It had a slow drip for some time, but now it's become too noticeable. The last thing I want to leave at the campground is my "Scent-of-oh-da-dutchman-da-sport" streaking the road for every dog in the campground to come sniffing over, and every kid in sight going .... "OHHH----Yuck! Look at that!"

So, before hitting another campground and running the risk of leaving more than I came with, which will be in a about a week now, my wife and I talked over getting a new tote. But, they do cost!

So, I took a chance and called Barker directly about buying JUST the valve gate and replacing it myself, and you know what?

Not only do they have the part, but they are shipping it directly to my home .... AND ... no charge at all, for shipping or the part!

Absolutely knocked me over!

I'm still speechless!

I just had to pass good news along!

Follow up post.

I received the valve in the mail a few days ago. Yesterday I finally got around to installing it. Easy to do (once you've done it), but learning how it's put together and keeping the parts inside the tank from slipping so it can be bolted took a little coordination. But now that I've done it, if I had to do it again, it would be so hard. Hopefully I'll never have to do it again.

I tested for leaks with clear water, and was able to dump the water over a bush in the yard (nothing like 32 gallons of water being dumped on that poor bush)!

But... no leaks. I went ahead and dumped my black tank to try it out. I can dump into my septic tank at home. It worked great again! No leaks! Let's hope I can get another 15 or 20 years out of it now!

Ready for our next trip now!

Pneumatic tires would be great but rubber never go flat tires would be better. I contacted Barker about getting tires for mine and never heard back from them. I guess I got lost in the shuffle.

Your experience does not surprise me at all and is very similar to the one I had a couple of years ago when I had problems with my 20+ year old Barker electric tongue jack. Their Customer Service overall and specifically their ability to clearly communicate in English, knowledge, and willingness to help were IMO beyond reproach and top notch in every way. Some Companies are just head and shoulders above the cut and Barker is one IMO.

An American company that stayed in America, making their products here in America! That is what more companies should do. Great company with good people!

I had a barker tank that was at least five years old that had developed a leak at a seam in the tank. I cut out a certain section of tank. Yes I put a hole in it.
Once they received my tank cut out. They sent me an entire new tank. Basically no questions asked. I'm sold on their customer service.

Barker is very at good at customer support. I had a barker jack where one of the micro switches went bad. I called them to order one and they sent me 2,no cost!

Hats off to Barker. So few companies have any pride in their products any more.

Perfect info, I'm a noobie, and filled my tanks this past weekend (7 people in the camper), and I've been looking at them. I think you just sold a Barker!

Bought a tote back in 07 when we hit the road......figured it would be a good idea

Used it 3X

With 128 gallon waste capacity (3 tanks) it was easier to just drag trailer to dump station then making several trips with tote

One of those RV items that for me is just more hassle then benefit

I totally understand. I bought one years ago, used it once (at home), then realized that nearly all of the campgrounds we go to either have full hookups or no dump station. It sat under the workbench out in the shop for about 5 years, then I sold it for $15 at a rummage sale.

If I ever need a tote, it will definitely be a Barker. It's hard to come by good customer service these days. It is nice to know there are companies that know what good service is.
