Weber Q100 or Q1000

I have the chance to purchase a new Weber Q100 grill at a local Ace store for a very good price. What is the big difference between the Q100 and the Q1000? Is the Q1000 worth the extra money? ($50.00)

Thanks,

Thanks for the replies, I purchased the Q100 and just finished up removing the regulator and transferring the quick connect from my old unit so I can use the low pressure quick connect at the rear of the trailer. I will give it a test tomorrow.

Have the BabyQ it's top quality. The stainless burner is still in good condition. Any other grill would be rotted out by now several times over. Owned ours for around 10 years.

We have used a Weber Q120 (Q100 with fold out shelves) for 7 years in our RV. Very satisfied with it. A thermometer would be easy to add.

Weber added a "0" to all the model numbers and increased the price. There ARE slight differences, but not worth the extra change in my opinion. I bought the 200 over the 2000 and added my own Weber thermometer. Very simple mod to drill a hole and add a thermometer if you want one.

Originally, we bought a Q220 for the RV, only to find it was about 3/4" too tall to fit in the stowage bays without taking the lid off. We junked a big 5-year old patio BBQ and moved the 220 into that job. We bought a Q100 for the RV. I'd have liked the slightly better one with the side tables and the temperature gauge, but couldn't find one. The Q100 works just fine.

The latest version for that model is the Q1200. Biggest difference is the cast iron grill piece is in two halves such that you can switch out one side for a griddle. For the 1000 the added spacers on the handle so you won't accidentally burn your knuckles on the lid. Ace sells a red version that I have and like. In Europe they sell a black version. Walmart still sell the 1000 and they include the table that is normally an add on option.

The 1000 has a 2 piece grilling surface instead of the single. It also has a flat grill available for one side.

I have a Q100. Wally World sells a couple versions of it also. One has a higher domed top, temp gauge and an electronic igniter. It might cost $40-50.00 more. Mine is fine. I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

Grab that great deal you found. We love ours. It cooks as well as the gas BBQ on our deck. We use it for every meal camping.

I got a Baby Q years ago, they changed the name to Q100, I think it should last forever.
