Just any FYI. I seldom post on this forum, but follow the Champion threads closely simply because I am interested in them and feel like there is some excellent technical information here esp from Prof. Does that make me a company rep? Good grief.

Don't try to make the cable yourself on the Champs. The connectors for the sync lines would be difficult to outsource - they are not standard off-the-shelf-items. IMHO, you do get your money's worth with the parallel kit. It wouldn't be cost effective to make your own.

I agree with your statement about Champion's parallel kit, if indeed it is in the $70 range I have seen posted on here.

When I built my own parallel kit, I did it for a couple reasons:

1) Honda was charging somewhere in the $300 range for the parallel cable kit with a 30 amp plug. (The cheaper cables that connected the two generators together with no plug was available, but it left you using a 20 amp breaker protected outlet, which was much less than the twin 2000's potential.) I built my cables for around $25. I had trouble finding the bananas, but someone found the right ones and posted a link for them, on here.

2) Since I like to run my twins in the back corners o my truck box, the Honda kit was way too short to accomplish that. I have about 6' - 8' of cable between my generators. It might be excessive for some people, but it's the way I like it.

As far as the connectors, I expect that whoever makes the Champion parallel kit probably buys them from a supplier. If that's the case, I bet they are available somewhere, possibly for a different application.

I know about the different Canadian specs. The early Canadian Honda 2000 inverters had no ports for paralleling (I don't know if the newer ones have the ports or not.)

Does the CPE 2000 inverter model sold in Canada have the paralleling ports?

The truth is that Champion has no reason or purpose of creating "plants" on this forum or any other to boost their product image. If you like doing searches, see what brand marques come up the most often on RV.net and you will quickly see that it is ludicrous to think that Honda, Yamaha, Champion or Kipor would even remotely think about such behavior.

For gosh sakes, apologize to these people and let it go!

Wow, I think if I read your post correctly you are insinuating that I am somehow affiliated or have an interest in Champion other than owning a couple of their generators. I will tell upfront that this is not the case. The only reason I have 4 posts in the Champion thread is that this is only thread I am interested in contributing my two bits on as an actual owner of said generator.

Should I post questions about what kind of antifreeze I should use in my trailer before I post any useful information regarding topics that really interest me? Or do you just approve of authoratative anecdotal posts from people with high post counts that don't actually own any of the products that they have an opinion on?

There have been possible 'plants' in the past, just hope you prove otherwise. Early on in this thread there was a 'Tony' from Az, we not longer hear from. Others come on and the first post is directed toward, I do believe one goal. And then of course there was several posts from the CEO of Champion? and we no longer hear from this person. So to the point, hope you are the real deal and owner of several Champion generators and will report back as you say, later, the results of owning the Champion 2000w Inverter generator.

You are correct on the $499 reg price. They make different models for generators for us in Canada as we have different electrical laws and they have to make some changes to comply with them. I have the 4000w model and I bought it in the U.S before they were sold in Canada. When they did eventually release it here I looked at one and it looked like several things were changed.
