Thanks guys for all the input. I went with a 19" Insignia tv and a asus mount on sale. Will pick up a dvd player at some point. Love the sound coming thru the stereo speakers! Thanks again and Happy Trails...:)

Keep in mind if you have the stereo option you can run an aux cable to the stereo and get the TV sound to all 4 speakers in your 850. This works out great for us with one kid in the dinette, one kid in the bunk when watching a movie so all 4 of us aren't crammed in the cabover

I like the mor ryde mounts but they are spendy. They have a great travel latch

I mounted a 24" flat screen TV from Costco on a Mor Ryde swivel mount up where the factory TV would mount. I added an additional piece of wood for backing and plenty of bolts to hold it solid on gravel roads. I also put a Blu Ray player in the cabinet and trimmed out a 1" hole for the cables to run between the two. I plan on adding an inverter so I can run everything on 12V this summer. So far the weather has always held out and I've spent my evenings by the fire enjoying a few cocktails so I've never actually used the TV. Hopefully my luck continues!

I don't personally like the combo units. I'd rather have the best tv and best blu-ray with wifi and apps built in for my money. Pay attention to the speakers for whatever tv or combo you buy. Sometimes a few more dollars gives you much better sound.

My Host came with a 17 with articulating mount. The tv rotates 90 degrees and is held in place by velcro straps. I've since updated it to a larger tv because the original insignia died.

I also added an auxiliary tv that has a mount I made that hangs over the cabinet that is across from the dinette. DW or I couldn't see the one in the bedroom wall without sitting on the same side of the dinette. I use a long cables to reach from the main tv or move the source closer as needed.

It's a thin piece of aluminum that I bent to go over the cabinet. The cabinet is open at the top since it is on a slide. I then drilled holes and used screws to attach it to the metal and added some adhesive backed foam tape to it to protect the cabinet. DW created a bag and we store it in the cabinet using some small d rings and bungies to hold it up next to the wall. Sorry, I can't find the pictures. Oh well, I'll have to take more.

We just use one of the portable players that have a built in screen. Since it's portable we can watch it in bed, at the dinette or even outside.

I used this TV with this mount and I've been happy. It runs on 12V with no inverter required, has a built-in DVD player (but not Blu-ray) and has a decent viewing angle.

I mounted it to the normal spot (left side of camper, front of wardrobe cabinet) and the mount lets it swivel so it can be viewed from either the bed or the dining table. I swivel it vertical for storage and secure it with a nylon buckle strap I bought for a few bucks. I run the sound through the AUX input of the stereo, but it puts out enough sound to work fine without doing that.

Thanks for the input. I didnt think about viewing angles yet but now I am. As far as mounting there is a 3/4" strip about 4" wide and tall enough inside the cabinet where im going to mount the tv bracket that looks stout enough to hold everything, tv, mount and so on. Im thinking Thats where the Northwood factory mounts the optional tv in these campers.

One thing to remember when purchasing a TV for the RV is to look at the viewing angle, if you can go to the store and sit lower then off to each side to see what it looks like at those angles. A DVD player is also nice to have.

Most times in a RV you wont be looking straight on at it. I found out the hard way after buying and returning 2 TVs, that sometimes at those angles the screen is washed out or black making them un-viewable.

After buying and returning a Samsung and a RCA I found a Insignia that has a much larger viewing angle, 178 horizontal and 178 vertical viewing angles.

In my RV with the TV in the front or the rear bedroom you have to look up at it. This TV works great in both areas. The DVD quality is excellent.
