Just had a brainstorm - how about a survey!

I just had a brainstorm when reading through the posts here.

So here's my question. We have two groups of folks on these forums: Those who exclusively blow out their water lines when winterizing and those who use the "pink stuff". For purposes of this survey, if you use a combination of blow and pink, you're still using the pink stuff.

Here's my curiosity: Is it because of the pink-stuff (taste, chemicals, or whatever) you do not drink from your own system?

So here's the survey question:

Do you "blow-out" or "pink-up" to winterize. And the second response, when you have de-winterized your system in the spring, do you drink or not drink from your camper?

If you do not drink from your own camper's water system, why?

Let's have fun folks, no jabbing each other, please?

I'll start:

Pink-up and drink. (I'm too old and too cheap to buy bottled water so I drink - but I did buy an in-line water filter this year too)

Blow and drink. Last trailer, pink and drink. I have had broken sink sprayers in both of my trailers! Operator error both times. Both systems work if done properly. Both fail if not.

Pink and drink (after sanitizing with bleach in spring). FWIW - I used to be a blow and drink type for years until having a cracked fitting under the sink 3 years ago.

My old TT got the blow and don't drink treatment - no pink. The motorhome got the pink - no drink.
Our new unit did not get blown clear; I used the low point drains and tank drain that all actually worked, then I used that nifty pickup tube on the pump and filled all the lines and traps with pink stuff. Come spring, I'll sanitize. I'm also going to install a kitchen sink fountain with it's own .001 micron filter for drinking.

Pink, no drink. Use bottled water. I do sanitize the system at least once in the spring too.

Blow, no pink, and don't drink.

(We bring jugs of filtered water from home to drink - I actually got sick a couple of times drinking water at CGs.)

Blow out and partial pink fill. Sanitize in the spring after removing pink, I use vinegar, since I don't like even the thought of chlorine to drink. I still don't drink much, but use a Britta filter for coffee.

I use antifreeze without blowing out lines. The reason I use antifreeze is that I have had broken check valve and broken deverter on shower when blowing out lines instead of using it. I always drink water from my system but my trailer has a water filtration system. For what it's worth I drank from previous rvs also and they did not have filtration. No bad taste in water with proper flushing which includes sanitizing the system.
