How young were you when you bought your first DP?

For starters I was 44. There is another tread about how long into retirement people will be keeping their motor home. I am no where close to retirement and I feel like I don't fit the demographic. I want to keep this specific to class A DP's and late model ones say within 5 years old because of the huge expense.

I was 34 and still have it now at 45. It was our second class A and first Diesel. Put almost 70,000 miles on it and loved every minute of it. Will probably start looking for our 2nd DP in a few years.

I am in my fourth motorhome, and have never had a DP.
At age 73, I think my current coach will be my last one.
But that's OK, we like it.

Great topic... at 42 with small kids (5-7ish) I'm looking hard at a DP and could afford it but I'm not sure I'd use it enough to justify the cost. Also, I'd get rid of the TT and limit myself substantially away from the campgrounds and places I like to camp and more towards RV parks.

Realistically, the DP is going to have to wait until the kids are older, I've had enough rustic camping and I have more time to take off for weeks or months rather than weekends. It's a lot of fun to research and dream though ๐Ÿ™‚

I bought my current Diesel Pusher at 32 years old. It had 24,000 miles and I'm about to hit 80,000 miles. Just turned 39.

Lost my first wife to cancer at 35, left me with boys 2 and 5 years old. Just got remarried and now the boys are 6 and 9. My new 31/yo DW drives the RV and loves it.

Love it!

I certainly remember your story and I'm so glad that you have found happiness again.

Back to the topic..... I bought our first diesel, and only, Motorhome in our signature in 2007 at the age of 48 a couple of months before my 49th........ now at 56, I'll get the second and last motorhome (famous last words) this October.

After a pop up camper, 35' TT, ArticFox Cabover, and class A Fleetwood Storm, bought my first DP in signature at 42. We love this thing so much and plan on keeping it a really long time.

As someone said earlier, my three boys have seen a great deal of the US RV'ing & we have loved it. My youngest is 23 now. It's just the DW & I. ๐Ÿ™‚
