30 foot run of sewer hose--downhill?

Looks like my closest dump location (into a sewer cleanout) at home is going to be about 30 feet horizontally and about 4-5 feet (luckily) downhill from the RV.

Is it feasible to run that much Rhino hose, or similar hose, that far? Would I be better off with some sort of rigid pipe that can be disassembled for storage?

I really don't want to buy a macerator pump, and doesn't seem it would be necessary.

This is correct (40 years as a contractor). The waste needs water to float on to travel.

beaker has a good point. You don't want the water outrunning the load it is carrying

When installing sewer lines we said we wanted it to flow or drop. When got too close to surface install vertical, then flow again.
For dumping a RV, you should have a slug of water behind any solids. OTOH, the ribs in a sewer hose would change the flow, and I'm not smart enough to know if better or worse.
I think if I was looking at OP's problem I would use PCV, and build a above ground system that could be set in place, used, flushed then stored

You'll be fine. It literally flows downhill.
You're good.

Nomination for best answer in the thread. Absolutely the best.

And to the OP I agree with Dedmiston so long as it is down hill does not matter if it's 5-10-20-30-50 feet SO LONG AS YOU HAVE ENOUGH HOSE.

I have about 50' of 3" (Multiple sections) and then the macerator with 50' of 3/4 " and yes I've found a need for all of it.

No problem, but I would use white PVC 3" (?) sewer pipe. It will drain better and last longer and cost much less $$$. You can get an adapter to attach the PVC pipe directly to your RV. No need to glue the pipe together. A press fit will work fine.

You may wish to research septic systems, mostly about pitch of the run. Too steep will leave solids behind. Probably 2 or 3 half tank flushes would help.

Not an issue in this case. This is not a traditional sewer line. The rush of water will push everything down.
Presuming the OP is talking about traditional RV dumping.

Thanks. I've seen some sites where that much hose would be needed. May just pile it in a bin and take it all with me anyway. At least the Rhino hose collapses nicely!

I'm a little paranoid about flushing anyway, so will be doing that for sure. Good point.

On a recent teip to hersey pa i needed a 30 foot to get to the sewer on the site. The sewer was at the end of the site. You'll be fine. Flush it as said. Good to go.

15’ Rhino with a 15’ extension would work fine for that. That much downhill would easily allow water and solids to flow out.

That's what I was hoping people would tell me.

I have one 15' section of Rhino that the previous owner left in the RV. I will have to measure the distance exactly, but obviously will need at least one more. If the ground is dry I can drive closer, but if we've had lots of rain I will have to stay on the concrete, which is farther away.

Thanks!
