Just had an oil/ filter change and state inspection done at my local Ford dealership ( they have a dedicated truck service center) and the whole thing took 45 mins and $65.00. (Castrol GTX Semi-Synth 5w-20. And a Ford oil filter) price for that same service at rv dealer..... 145.00. Now before someone says "i do my own...." at my age and the fact that in this state we have to get an inspection every year, just makes sense for me

Go to the truck dealer for any driveline, engine or transmission service. Also brake system.

I just have to hide from those pesky salesmen when I go in. Grab a cup of coffee and donut and hang out.

If I could get 14qts of synthetic and a Ford filter for $65 US I wouldn't do mine either!

I do indeed do my own but for $65 I might not bother.

6 quarts of semi-synthetic & a filter will run me $30. And I have to get the stuff, change the oil, get oil spattered on me & the driveway, dump the oil into a container, and take it for disposal. For $10 more the Ford dealer changes my oil, tops off the fluids, and rotates the tires. Knock yourself out.

My local Dodge Dealer routinely sends me a oil/filter coupon....12 qts Rotella and filter for $59 (use to be $49 past 2 yrs)

I drive in.....go sit in lounge drink morning coffee and eat a donut while watch the news. Little chit-chat and on my way.
Is it time for your medication or mine?

I'm 75 and still do my own oil and filter changes, but I took the coach to a local truck service center for the mandatory NY state safety inspection a couple of days ago. The closest RV dealer requires that I leave the coach overnight for an inspection, but the truck shop had me in and out in about 20 minutes.

I had a free oil change at a dealership, they put in more than 2 quarts too much of the wrong oil. I can't even afford free. By the way, that is the only oil change ever that I didn't do myself, except when an Oldsmobile dealership mistakenly changed my oil in 1965 when the car was in for other service.

It always pays to shop around. Nothing new here.
