Has anything ever happened that wasn't the RV Park's fault

This morning has an irate guest complaining the breaker in his site kept tripping all night long. Went to investigate, they have a 40 foot pusher and were in a 50 amp site. Trouble was they had adapted down their 50 amp plug to a 30 amp plug and then adapted that plug down to a standard 20 and it was the 20 amp breaker in the pedestal that was tripping. Tried to explain to them that having a 50 amp rig would probably draw way too much power for a single 20 amp circuit and they should remove the adapters and just plug into the 50 amp receptacle. They promptly berated me and told they had traveled across the country and never, ever had a problem, so it has to be the park's electrical system.
I can now add this to the wifi system that doesn't work and it is the park's fault because the guest has the wifi turned off on their computer. The park's cable system doesn't work and the fact that the guest didn't have a cable connected to their television was immaterial. It's the park's fault the guests didn't know the roads in Montana are mountainous. It's the park's fault the local propane company isn't open on Sunday. The park should be telling all the guests that there isn't a Walmart nearby and the local grocery store sells milk for a dime more than it costs in their supermarket.
I'd have little whine with my cheese, but the local liquor store doesn't carry the boutique label my sophisticated palate demands and that's probably the park's fault as well.

Would be fun to summarize the best requests and publish it for those interested and a bit of humor.

Just put a "special" FAQ link on your website and point them to it.

Again, not making the argument you think you are...

You report spiders in the electrical box, they arrive to find wasps, and you are the smart one?????????????????????

Do you need pictures?? Your reading comprehension skills are a little low today Eh?

Think some of you guys are being a bit harsh on WRVPO. After all, he is the only one who was there and really knows what went down. Also, important point, it's HIS business, not any of ours. He can run his business any way he wants and the market will prove whether he is right or wrong.

Well in FACT he was not the only one there and there is another side to the story. We just get his side. Therefore a bit of skepticism may well be called for.

Second If WRVPO really didnt want to hear these things he would not have chosen that very "handle", WRVPO. So in essence he is inviting these opinions by writing in such ways about his customers under that Pseudonym.

Chill out westernparkowner. For every problem guest there are 1000 good ones.
At our Colorado park we don't have problems, we have opportunities.
Sometimes they are opportunities to help a customer understand his rig.
That guest made it very clear that it was not my place to help him understand his rig. Get slapped around a few times by those 1 out of 1000 you don't take chances with the other 999.

Nice to see you bash your guests on the World Wide Web!! This is your interpretation with out any debate from the guest!!
Cool,, lets just all label them as stupid because your so smart!!
Great business sense!!
It isn't like the guy is going to be a repeat guest. He thinks my electrical grid is **** because his 50 amp rig trips a 20 amp breaker. I know he is the south end of a north bound mule and I won't take a reservation from him anyway.

Wow,, Business must be really good to be so arrogant! Maybe you don't realize that maybe he has friends, that have friends,And word of mouth is a part of getting customers,, But with your attitude I am sure they won't come back..
It is funny,, you are there to serve your customers needs and feel the need to be ABOVE them,, Your just a park manager or whatever.
How hard would it have been to just replace what was wrong or educate and be nice about it? No,, I am sure you made it clear that this guy was interrupting your busy schedule!

We do avoid parks or campgrounds that have a larger list of What Not to do other than enjoy the place..
We have stayed reluctantly after making a reservation at some very nice places only to discover the management thought it was the Taj Mahal of parks!! I hope you don't post a number to contact management in case of issues,, because at this place I made sure they were busy,, They trimmed a tree branch after suggesting that I move my trailer over,,Not!! Then they came back three times to fix the water spigot that was leaking, not much,, a drip here and there,, But when he cranked on the hose connection he made it worse,, then passed it off as "Oh I'll be back",, When he got the call at ten that night that my patio was getting wet, he showed up with a new gasket for my hose,,,,,,wasn't my hose it was the spigot!!

The offered me the spot across the road,,,, Not happening.. Another call at eleven and he brought out a fifty foot hose and hooked me into the spot behind us!!

What a Putz!! I left there after our week of fun and shook my head!! Really,, Just had to be nice when we got there and explained a few things with out talking down to us!! Life is like a box of Chocolates,, you never know what your gonna get,,and that goes both ways!!

Not really making the argument you think you are with that story.
Though he is making the argument that sometimes parting ways with a customer is good business. The park trimmed a tree because the guy wouldn't reposition his RV. There was a slow leak they tried to fix but apparently couldn't. Offered to move the guy to another site, not good enough. Hooked him up to another water spigot and provided the hose necessary to make that connection, that makes the park management a Putz. (Depending upon the type of water spigot, repairs could be very easy, just change a faucet. It can be semi-easy, change the faucet but need to shut down the campground water supply to do it, inconveniencing everyone in the park until the repairs are complete. If it was a frost free hydrant, you have to dig up the connection which is 4 to 5 feet below the surface, not an easy repair at all.) He is very happy he is no longer at that park. The park is likely very happy his isn't there either. That isn't bad business, that is a win-win.

Correction: My references are NATIONALITY not Ethnicity

No problem at all Just facts. When you own and operate an upscale boutique hotel in a popular SE Asian Beach resort you get clients from all over the world.

And I noticed you didnt include the Italian Ambassador or the Italians that were so brilliant in your post??? I think that balanced it quite nicely. Nationality-wise that is.
