LONG POSTs

Here lately I am seeing many posters apologizing for a long post. Is there something I have missed in the rules somewhere that says the posts should be a short yes - no length.

If so I am probably a big offender of this policy. I give long descriptions along with photos and links if I have them available -

I think I have seen four posts today apologizing in advance for a long post.

Maybe I have missed something along the way...

My Posts are IMHO based on my experiences - Words in CAPS does not mean I am shouting

How about moving this whole thing to the Forum Support forum?

This thread subject has nothing to do with theme of the General RVing Issues, which is;

I laughed at that last post.

Oh and I'm guilty of long posts. I might take half a day to write a long one to try to help someone out with an issue. Sure they might just get glassy eyed by the 10'th paragraph, but that's okay by me as I gave them my best shot at helping that I could.

So I belive that one of the variations of the golden rule is to post in a manner that other folks are able to read and interpret it clearly and effeciently.

I really don't like the level of reading comprehension by some, how a few always try to read things into a post or twist a meaning of something, just to start an argument or to find something to criticize.

Or the ones who post something like "its time to shut this thread down" like they are some kind of authority (wanna be) or something,, don't like it? read a different one, or F### ##f

as for long posts, its silly to apologize for it, but I am not going to whine about it, I'll either read it or I won't, I really don't care, I've typed long ones and short ones myself, depends what its about.

I guess I'm guilty but I like details especially for campground info or routes. ๐Ÿ™‚ I do try to make paragraphs to separate thoughts.

I dislike short posters with statements like: "do a search" or "I don't know or I haven't been there but hope it works out". Those kinds of posts just take up space and are senseless.

I also dislike seeing huge pictures - smaller ones will do just fine - or folks replying and reposting the huge pictures and then others reposting the huge picture, etc.

Some folks also reply with the same post included - especially the 2nd reply quoting the 1st reply.

Also posters that only read the 1st post and then supply an answer when the poster has already received his answer in post #2. Or posters that bring up old, old posts, especially on travel, when the OP has probably gone and returned months ago. ๐Ÿ™‚

Whew...I think I kept that kinda short!
