2013-14 F-150 FX4 Payload?

I went an looked at a loaded 2013 Supercrew 5.5' bed 4x4 ecoboost F-150. I really liked the vehicle until I say the yellow payload sticker was on 1,150 pounds. Why is it so low?

I looked at a 6.2 liter Platinum model with all of the goodies and it had 1,580 pounds of payload.

Was there some type of higher or lower GVWR option for the F150 FX4 models of 2013 and 2014?

the mirrors are a dead give away to max towing as you can see by my signature picture I would have to go to the garage and look and it is like 15 and snowing I will say it is just the wife and I so we don't have as much payload as the average family. My main issue for weight is the antiques she buys and we bring home lol. our Eco boost max tow haul does just fine for us by the way there are no addons

I understand the need to put the truck in a garage. You could probably find a NHT Silverado 1500 easier. These trucks can have nearly 2,000 lbs payload and they fit in a normal garage.

The Max Payload F150 from this generation is easy to identify as they will have 7 lug wheels instead of 6. The GM twins you need to look at the RPO code list for 'NHT'.

Thanks!

Jeremiah

My 2500 has a rougher ride than my NHT/Max Tow 1500 did.

My Max Tow GMC had a payload of just over 2,000 pounds. Maybe OP can consider that as an option.

Yep, with MaxTow my 2011 F150 was under its 7500# GVWR but over the rear 4050# GAWR when towing. I should've got the HD Payload option with 7 lug wheels and higher rGAWR (4800#) and GVWR(8200#), as well as the Max Tow option.

With the Ecoboost, the HD payload F150s are rare but really nice trucks for towing. The pre-Al body ones came with OE LT-E tires, as well as a tougher suspension, all things I had to do after-market to get mine to tow well. However around here, most of them are plain vanilla XL models that are used hard in construction and snow plowing. It would be hard to find a used one in good shape.

It varies a lot with model and options. My 2016 F-150 XLT Supercrew 4x4 3.5 Ecoboost 5.5 box with tow package has a sticker payload of 1777.

Yes but it wouldn't fit in my garage, it would ride rougher, and it wouldn't have the ecoboost engine.

1,100 to 1,500 pounds sounds about right for a 150/1500 truck.

A somewhat out dated term for a F150 would be saying it's a half ton truck = 1,000 pounds.

I found a max tow with a 7650 GVWR and about 1580 in payload. At first when looking at the photos I could tell by the tow mirrors that I suspected it had max tow and then it was verified by looking at the door sticker.

I might choose this one. It is 400 pounds more payload than the non max tow.

A '13 max tow may have a 7700 gvwr with a 4050 rawr P tires and wheels good for around 1500-1600 lb load in the bed.

A '13 F150HD at 8200 gvwr and larger 4800 rawr with load E tires and wheels is good for around 2300-2400 lbs in the bed.

The '13 as most year model F150 has several GVWR from 6400 up to 8200 and several RAWRs from 3500 up to 4800 lbs to choose from.

Be aware some F150 max tow owners have reported being over their trucks 4050 rawr when using a high gvwr based payload sticker.

I think this is your answer.
Mine had the MaxTow, plus it was an FX2 SCab with a payload of 2050#.

That does seem low.

My 2013 4x4 Eco supercrew 5.5 has 1348payload I believe. It is the off road pkg which reduces my payload because of the weight of the skid plates etc. related to that pkg.

No idea why the FX4 would be so low.

The max tow option added 500 lbs to the GVWR.
