BAL X wheels chocks

Anyone have a negative/positive experience with the BAL 28005 Deluxe Tire Chocks? I read a post on another selling site that one person blew out the belts of their radial tires, hmmm sounds like they over-tightened. I've been contemplating the purchase but looking for any bad stuff about the use.

I got a pair of the x-chocks my first year. But since it is usually my wife and I, and sometimes just me, I don't really mind them movement, actually feels kinda nice sometimes. Now, if you have more folks in the trailer I can see it getting quite annoying so might depend on your circumstances. I gave mine away. I don't always put down my stabilizers either. To each his/her own.

I have been using mine for 5 years now and have had no issues with tires. The trailer is much more stable (no fore and aft movement) with the Bal 28005 chocks, than with the conventional wheel chocks used at ground level.
Actually I use both when camped for a extended period of time.
For a over night camp stay where we do not unhitch I use only the standard ground chocks.
The Bal 28005 chocks should NOT be installed, until after you unhitch your trailer and have it leveled. Standard ground level wheel chocks should be used during the unhitching process.

Your post is confusing because your thread title refers to BAL X-Chocks (Model 28010) but your post itself refers to the BAL 28005 which is not an X-Chock ... rather, it's an earlier version of an in-between tire chock and not nearly as effective as the X-Chock. Secondly, what is your intent in using an in-between tire chock? ... I'm asking because neither of these products, despite the label "chock", is actually intended to chock the trailer and prevent it from inadvertently rolling away. For that you can't beat a BAL Standard Tire Chock, Model 28000A, provided you have sufficient clearance between the tires at ground level to secure this chock in place ... and yes, this one does chock your tires. My own personal view is one can't beat a set of these to chock the trailer, along with a set of BAL X-Chocks to minimize suspension movement when walking around inside the camper.

The ones I have really helped. My family knows when I forgot to put them in as the trailer really moves.

I just got mine and so far so good. As far as affecting the steel belts that sounds pretty far fetched.

I find it hard to believe one could tighten them enough to blow out the belts on the tire. It sure would be overkill on what's needed. Only problem I've had is that one of the clip pins broke, but bal replaced it with no problem. I really like mine. You do need to tighten them after the tires have cooled.

If you come to Fl. I have a set you can have. They won't work with my newer rig. Always pleased with them.

I had mine for 8 years and have not had one bad experience with them. The work fine for me and I root on them pretty hard.

I've had them for several years now and have nothing but positive comments. They do keep the wheels from rocking but doesn't keep the frame from bouncing. If they ruined your tires, they'd probably be out of business by now! :R

Lot's of people use them, but mine sits on the garage shelf as I didn't like it. You need to tighten them really tight for them to work. I use a BAL 28000A on each side. My trailer isn't going anywhere, that is for sure.
