Best kind. Someone got one for free 99 this morning. Swiped it off the tailgate of a pickup on the job. While it was running.
Dude jumped out. Pull the cord out that was plugged in and turned it off on the way back to his car!
They were $999 + tax today, lol. I approved the PO for another one.....

Hi,

Yamaha invented the inverter generator. Others may license the design from them. The Champion produces exactly the same pure sine wave that the Yamaha does. My opinion is that the Yamaha 2800 Sieb is a better product that the Honda.

A Mercedes Benz costs more than a Chevy Malibu for a reason as do Hondas over Champions. Just because a generator is advertised as an "inverter" generator, it doesn't mean that it's a "pure sine-wave" inverter design. Also are the Champions "Forestry Approved" and "Carb Compliant" ? Perhaps they are but Honda has always been the first to market with these advances. It's easy to be swayed by advertising jargon and even basic specs. If you want to see the real nitty gritty, get deep into the service specs on an engine. Look at tolerances and "wear limits". Nothing compares to the precision of the Honda products. Yes, it's true that many of the options are advertised to be just as quiet, but who carries a Db meter around with them ? For what it's worth, the precision of the Hondas allows it to burn the least fuel in the group. The resale value of a generator is a good indication of its value ๐Ÿ™‚

REALLY ???
I got internet quote for 2017 Malibu Premier with some options I would require and it come to $37,005.
Mercedes is not giving internet quotes but 2017 Mercedes C-class has MSRP $33,695 and they come loaded as standard.
EDIT, sorry, it is 2018 Mercedes with that price.

Some misconceptions here about what dealers are "allowed" to advertise as far as price goes on Honda generators. Each dealership (or retailer) is an independently owned business and it's against federal law for any company to dictate what a privately owned business can advertise and sell its products for. Honda does have a minimum advertised price for advertising that they are paying for. Honda pays co-op advertising in a variety of ways but simply put, if a dealer purchases a set number of units, the program allows the dealer to submit his advertising costs for reimbursement. Honda will simply not reimburse the dealer for his ad if the price is below what the general market allows. technically, the dealer can advertise any price he chooses to.

Northern Tool takes up to $200 off select Honda generators. Plus, get up to a $100 Northern Tool Gift Card for free with these purchases. (The amount will show in cart. You'll receive your gift card via email within 24 hours of your purchase.)

So -- on a 2000-
$899, free shpg, and a $50 gift card.

I think that'll be about the lowest for a brand new one.

The normal price is $999.
- $100 honda sale discount = $899.
- Honda credit card sale = $799. from your local dealer.
credit card app is on line at honda site.
maybe you can use it at Northern Tool than you can add the $50.00 NT rebate card as well. it still cost you 799, but you get 50 bucks to spend at NT.

While Iโ€™m a Honda guy myself, I have to say some of the off-brands work pretty well and are quiet.
I still think the Honda will outlast them and parts availability is better.
Some off-brands have a hard time actually producing their full rated power and Hondas will usually deliver a bit more than their rating.

And I hereby put forth the notion that Honda EU2000s are the CHEAPEST sets to own.
A coupe years ago, I decided to see if I could sell my 12-year-old well-used pair.
They did still work perfectly. I put โ€˜em up for $700 each, and sold the pair to a guy for $1400. Then I ordered myself a brand new pair from Mayberryโ€™s for $1800.

That means it cost me $400 to run two EU2000s for twelve years!
If they hadnโ€™t still fetched a good price Iโ€™d have kept them, there really wasnโ€™t anything wrong with them, twelve years later.

That definitely holds true for Honda generators,

I need to cry twice. I want a 2nd one.

I find I really only use mine when I need AC.
with one powering the polar cub AC (on eco) the Honda 2000 is running at a pretty good RPM. But I think if I had 2 generators running, the RPM's would be lower because each generator is supplying 1/2 the power requirements, thus the total noise level will be lower.

back to the OP, right now Honda has a sale going on.
$100 off, plus an additional $100 mail in rebate if you use a Honda credit card. (no interest for 12 months if you charge over $500)

I hear you on that one. Air Conditioning when my wife wants to use her blow dryer etc. is the only time I really have used the generator so far with the camper. It is great to have as backup however even if you don't use it a lot.
