Good Evening campers... How do you light up the night?

Love all the daytime activities that come with camping. But there is something about the night time, especially all the different lights people decorate their campers with. My lights are DIY interior LED lights. What kind of lights do you display?

The cheap stick in the ground solar lights from Harbor Freight work alright, if you need 'em for minimal light.

Since I am just about the clumsiest person on the planet, I used these to mark the "tie down cords" or whatever you call them for the canopy we put over the picnic table. I got tired of tripping over the pegs. They worked just fine for this. Not too bright and the charge dies and doesn't stay on all night. Biggest problem we had was finding ground soft enough to stick the cheap plastic stakes into. When the batteries die die, had to get the special solar rechargeable ones from Lowes.

Now if we are in a situation where we are concerned about the canopy blowing away, we run a ratchet strap under the table from corner to corner of the canopy frame. That way I have less to run into.:S

We have 24 hours of daylight in summer, so no artificial light needed.

In the fall or spring...

I've used the small solar lights to light the paths around the campsite. I also have a remote control lantern that I turn on when I get close enough to the camper. I'm usually camping in state parks with no hookups and very few neighbors.

I was mentioning to the girlfriend the other night how the stream of campfires looked cool as we were sitting by ours. We do have two blue rope lights we stream along the ground on the same side as the walk in door. A little easier NOT to trip over something at night.

Were you not taught to bring enough to share with everyone?

Do the people that camp in that small tent sleep standing up?

Almost - You use inversion boots and hang from the roof.

I have different thoughts on different locations. When I'm at Disney, I light up things, just part of the experience to me. When I'm in a national park with no hookups, as little as possible. I may have solar awning lights that put off far less light than a coleman lantern but nothing for the most part. Occasionally I find my way to a state park mid week to bring my telescopes....don't want any light other than red flashlight. Of course by the weekend when things fill up it seems to be a contest so well hang our windsock lights.

We are former backpackers so dark is what the woods are supposed to be....that is if your really in the woods.

The one tiki torch almost looked like a ball cleaner on the 18th tee. I was wondering what golf course they were boon docking on. LOL!

FYI, you knew the tent was a shower, right?

After the kiddos & pups go to bed, we flip on the range hood light, which I purposely replaced with the smallest LED wedge I could find, faces down, and lives behind a frosted cover. This puts just enough light in the rig for DW & I to return from the campfire for a refill without tripping over a fur-kid (both black lab mixes) or flipping on an extra light

No kiddos present, hunting camp, or father/son weekend and we rely on the stars, moon, and campfire- well the first two at least this summer in the NW...
