The 17 Fords should be perfect since they have had 18 years to get it all right with the complete new design.

I currently have an 11 Duramax at my shop with a smoke CP4, I Diag'ed a 2012 Ford over the winter that ultimately got shipped back to the shop that put a pump on it without doing anything about the contaminated fuel system. My neighbors 2015 Duramax smoked a CP4 with about 50k on it. The Pump itself is very efficient and will make good power, but when they blow its a mess and they send steel throughout the fuel system, both ford and GM, older and new. Knock on wood, my 2012 GMC has a 160k one it, but I really need to get off ass and pull the necessary stuff apart to check for filings before I'm buying a complete fuel system.

Hmm, maybe they got it right the first time so they were able to make such a long on their design?

Always does. If a thread is discussing anything but a Ram, the boys get all bent out of shape and sway the conversation to the exceptional virtues of the Ram even though it's off topic.;)
I agree, I came from an 99 F350 to a 2014 Ram, other then the power, the 99 was a better truck. I would much rather have the Ford again, and would if they would have given me the same deal. I am now beginning to realize why the Ram is a cheaper truck.
To start the paint on the newer Rams are inferior to my now 18 year old Superduty. I have the Laramie, and IMO the interiors are junk. The mirrors on the Rams are terrible. 6 recalls on my 2 year old Ram. The last was the track bar issue, which had the potential to come apart ,and a chance of loss of steering.
Its possible the OP has read up on the Rams, and came to the same conclusion I have. IMO the only thing keeping the Ram afloat is the Cummins.
We keep hearing this CP4 HPFP issue, and just wondering when is the last time someone on this forum has brought up that issue, other then one we all know about a few years back. Wasn't that truck a 2011-12 ??? When was the last time we have heard about problems with the 2014-16 Fords . I am sure there are issues, but thats a pretty lame excuse or reason to discounting arguably the best overall truck of the three.
You guessed it , I am not a member of the Ram mafia, and never will be.
Sounds like you better run her off a cliff! They are taking orders on the 2017 Fords.

To everyone bragging about he Aisin, lets not forget that it costs an extra $2600. Sorry but that's a little pricey to get a top-notch transmission. At least Ford and GM give you their best transmission with no extra cost.
You can still buy a full boat RAM Longhorn or Laramie Limited dually, 4:10's, Aisin, rear air etc etc for less than a Ford or GM.
