Arizona weather very different than last year!

Remember last January in AZ? Thought we were going to freeze our butts off at McDowell Mountain and in Apache Junction not to mention snow in Tucson. Lows were in the low 20s highs in the 30s.

I know AZ needs some moisture, but the low to mid 70s and 0% precipitation sure feels good to my old bones. Took a bike ride yesterday in shorts and actually broke a sweat. They're saying next two weeks should be above average temps.

Guess this is payback for all the snow I shoveled and blew back in December. I spent six hours one day working on the driveway back to the RV barn. It was 8 degrees with 50mph winds. Thought I was going to leave my bones in a snowdrift until spring.

Hows the wind this year?

Since we arrived in Phoenix just after Christmas, no high winds at all. The forecast for the next week is highs in the 70's, lows in the 40's. Love it!

Wow, I can remember winds so strong you couldnt play golf at all. Must be pretty nice out there without them.

I saw the oregon coast had winds in the 90's last week. yowsirs.

Much better weather than last year but day after day of sunshine is getting boring. A nice storm would make it more interesting.

Don't you dare wish for that. ๐Ÿ˜›

I want sunny days all winter long. That's why we are here. Will get enough rain when we move up the coast come spring.

Our sister and hubby visited us for two weeks last Jan. Experienced, in that period, record low, record high and record rainfall- each for the individual day. Lots of variety but this season - very dull - just pretty warm!!

I think it was 1976, we had nearly a foot of snow on the ground in Huachucha City. It was on the ground about a week. We had zero snow removal equipment and the folks out there went nuts. I think Tucson had a few inches that lasted a couple of days. I love the AZ weather in the winter.

Global Warming... Ops can't call it that so Climate Change. A colder Pacific oscillation and La Nina if history repeats itself means colder WX in the central US. It's actually been warmer than normal in Fla this winter. Looking forward to some cooler WX this next week.

More like climate change with a pinch of Japanโ€™s Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster in it to make the world go nuts...

We're burning less propane than last year - - we use an electric heater on low so the furnace doesn't come on until just before dawn. Nights around the 40ยฐ mark are better than the below freezing nights of last year.

The high 60s we've been getting have been great - bright sun, no clouds, no wind...

OTOH, as soon as the sun goes down it's been getting into the 30s and low 40s pretty quickly. Burning more propane this year than even before.

Last year at this time when we were here in Amado, AZ about 30 miles N. of Nogales we woke up to 13 degrees with water hose froze.

Not this year!! Temps at night in the 30's and today sunny again with day time temps in the 70's.
