Curtains in your rig ?

Just taking a straw poll. What is your take on curtains in your camper be TT,5thwhee,or MH? I just took down mine to do some work in my 5ver and it looks at least 25% bigger and 50% brighter. I still have blinds so I'm seriously thinking of keeping them down. I know it's to each their own, just trying to see what the general consensus is.

We have blinds on all windows, curtains were factory in the bedroom area, we just added them to the dinning room windows, makes a heck of a difference for not only privacy but with temperature and noise..

We have day night shades...don't like them. Took down the chunky wood and fabric covered valances.

We have room darkening curtains with the day/night shades. What I don't like about the day/night shades is if the windows are open for fresh air...then you can't put the day/night shade down for privacy and get air.

I would like a double curtain rod...that extends past the edge of the window. I want semi-sheers so you can close them, see out and get air. And then an insulated room darkening curtain with that.

But extend the rod out 6" past the edge of the window so when you open the curtains it opens up the view in the window and lets in more light!

I greatly dislike the day/night blinds in our 5er. DH said when they break we can replace them with mini blinds... That said, I have black out drapes that I modified to fit the windows. I love them.
During the time when the sun shines directly on the window, the day blinds do just that - blind you to the outside! Looks like a movie screen with no movie shown on it! At least with mini blinds, you can angle the slats to cut the sun but can still see out.
And I always felt like someone could still see through the night blinds, though I don't think that is true.
I am much more comfortable with the drapes. And they look nice too!

Here in the land of the midnight sun, we took out the shades in our MH and made insulated, black out curtains. Dark in the summer and warmer when we use it in the winter for snowmobile trips. we included a large one that covers the entire entry door, and replaced the cab area curtains.

We took out the blinds and ugly factory valences everywhere except left blinds over the sink. GF made curtains which we like better. Personal preference...

We had blinds but they kept fouling so DW got rid of them and MADE curtains that look so much nicer and really block out the light so a guy can sleep.

We have metal blinds over the stove in the kitchen, and everywhere else we have the push-up type of shades. The MH came with some decorative curtain kind of things that had to be put up with velcro fasteners. I tossed them. I don't like curtains anywhere - as far as I'm concerned they're just dust catchers, and the shades are much brighter and cleaner looking.

We had curtains in our old Scotty trailer - they were fine. Our present trailer has blinds on the windows in the living area and shades in the bedroom and bathroom. I wouldn't change it - very functional - better than curtains.

I had curtains in my TT and roller blinds in my MH. I like the simplicity of the roller blinds - quick pull, they're open; quick pull, they're closed. I always seemed to catch the curtains on the rod when I'd open and close them.

I wouldn't bother with blinds AND curtains.

All of the new ones have blinds. Even though curtains are easier to clean, just throw them in the wash, the blinds do open up the space. We prefer blinds.
