Walking through campsites

I'm I the only one that finds that rude? I've been at the beach for a week now, one spot back from the end and I have people constantly walking through our site, because they're too lazy to walk another 50 feet. These sites are not huge so they're walking right through our chairs, bikes etc.
Guess I'm just venting this morning.

I say "Excuse me." in a tone that really says "Why are you walking thru my lot?

Then after you come back from a nice day of hiking, you find four flat tires on your camper! The person you said "excuse me" to is a real dirt bag and "paid" you back while you were away from home. Sometimes it is best to say nothing, which depends of course on one's own circumstances and perceived level of frustration. Rude, selfish, uncaring, and ignorant folks can be found just about everywhere.

I have a type โ€œAโ€ personality and have learned over the years the โ€œKMSโ€ response method. KEEP MOUTH SHUT! This seems to work well for me, at least, when I remember to use it! Safe camping to all.

Ummm... You are probably going to argue that walking through a yard is different than walking through a living room. Don't have to you did for me. Big differance unless the bypasser walks thru your camper.

I owned a townhouse I had to get permission to enter the yard that I OWNED. I also and my contracts says I can come in at any reasonable hour to inspect.

I agree that walking thru a site and bothering folks that are trying to relax is not cool, but if there is space and it is just to cut off some steps what is the problem?

I may be in the minority here, but I don't get too excited over stuff like this.

I agree. No problem here. I don't like getting upset. It just upsets me. So I try to avoid it by adjusting my attitude. Makes me a much happier person.

People that get upset over trivial stuff tend to be miserable people.

I don't walk through other people sites. It makes them upset. And then they might make me upset. Return to sentence number three above.

Ok I just read most of the threads here. I am new to the rv world so I just did not think much of this. I have already met some great people and I have been guilty of cutting through sites, but I always ask first. Many people just invite us to sit and talk and get to know each other. The kids cutting through do not bother me but I did almost get mowed down by a couple on bikes. I just asked them to walk the bikes through next time. I guess I spend much of my time at work with the same people so I just look at those cutting through as an opportunity to meet new people.

I put an accordion or banjo on the picnic table and no one comes near my site!:W

You'll never stop some people from walking through other folks campsites. All you can do is make that pathway less desirable than others. You don't need big dogs, either. You just need a couple of BIG dog food bowls with "KILLER" and "BRUISER" printed on them, next to a couple of big chains. ๐Ÿ™‚

WOW, I thought you guys were friendly group, I was wrong. When did you guys buy the little rented lot that you parked your camper on. I mean you are renting it from the campground, you don't owen it. Don't believe me try and sell it while you are there. You guys must all go to small campgrounds that are packed in like tuna in a can. Ever been to LazyDays in Tampa, or some of the other big campgrounds, resorts? They are layed out in rows of sites as long as the eye can see, without any cut-a-cross paths, to go from one end of the campground to the other at 70+ years old might take 20 minutes if you don't find a site that is empty to cut thru. It is the campgrounds fault for not making access paths for those that are walking to the pool, bath, clubhouse, whereever. My bet is if there was a cut path you would complain anyway. As long as they are not in my arms reach they can pass. If they bring beer they can stay. Chill out folks you are camping not setting up a military base of operations.

I am friendly, I haven't been rude to the first person that has walked through..yet.
You're correct I am renting this site. Farmers also lease land all the time and immediately post "no trespassing" signs up.
My friends site is beside us and the last site on this row. People cut through his just to save an extra 20 ft of walking.
I would never walk through someones site. I have camped at places before where walking through our site was a necessity based on location, and I had no problem with that. These people are just lazy.

People camping are no different than people in general... Some are going to be rude others will not.

Ummm... I lived in an apartment for 3 years before I got married. I didn't OWN that either, I RENTED it... much like a campground spot. Would you have opened my front door and strolled through my living room there? Hopefully not. You are probably going to argue that walking through a yard is different than walking through a living room.

I owned a townhouse and rented it out for 2 years. The rental agreement gave my renter 100% access to the house AND THE GROUNDS. I wasn't allowed to show up randomly and walk across MY backyard, because it was legally rented to our renters. I had to get permission to enter the yard that I OWNED.

If I didn't have those rights, why am I paying to rent the site? If anyone can wander across any site and claim a right to it without paying for the privilege, what is the difference between walking really slowly across a site and dropping a camper in the site?

I was inside fetching a cold one from the fridge when all this happened. However, all this was retold to me a dozen times by the people in the campsite across from me who thought this was the best thing ever. One fellow was laughing so hard I thought he was going to pass out from lack of oxygen. Well, I'm just glad I was able to provide grand entertainment and another campfire story that will be told again and again.

To lower my blood pressure next time some oblivion strolls through right past my window (and there WILL be a next time because it happens everywhere, even when a convenient path has been provided by management), I'm going to picture that episode.

Rudeness happens everywhere. We have miles of trails behind our property. We walk the trails frequently which are primarily built for mountain bikers but some hikers/runners/horseback riders frequent them track bridge with our 2 big dogs when a runner wanted to cross at the same time. There was barely enough room for us when he pushed my husband aside so he could continue his run uninterrupted. No apologies or excuse mes. Just kept running. My husband was speechless and almost fell into the creek. Rude sob. I yelled some choice words but he was plugged in.

You would suppose that common sense and courtesy would apply here. Thankfully there are few that are lacking in both. Upon arrival, it is a good idea to assess the probability that your campsite will be invaded by inconsiderate or unwitting trespassers. Sometimes, I will consult a campground map before hand to get an idea of just how much privacy I can expect. There are some sites that are bound to be thoroughfares and short cuts. Short of building a fence, you just can't deter some people. I have a few horror stories I could share, but just thinking about them raises my blood pressure. Mostly I have observed other people have their personal space violated. It is astonishing to me that even when this is explained to the offender, they still can't seem to understand the concept. They never will. These are the same people you find at work and in your living room when extended family comes over. Once in a while the hand of fate comes down with a well deserved "dope-slap" upside the ol' noggin'. I recall a young man that came jogging through my site and in one fell swoop got clothes-lined by hanging beach towels, tripped up by a recliner, burned by my campfire and bit (more of a nip) by my otherwise napping dog.
