Ford Gas 6.2 vs 7.3

We no longer travel with our 13k lb 5th except back and forth to Florida from the NC mountains. I'm trading my GM diesel longbed for a gas standard bed. Probably going with a Ford F250 (although I am still considering a RAM). Not ideal for extende...

Half ton towing

Looking at these numbers and forums for towing and it is very annoying. Most of these trailers say micro or light but have 900 to 1,000 lb tongue weights. Basically, you need a 2500 to tow anything but a pop-up camper.

Puma destination trailers

Hey all. The thinking has always been that destination trailers are park and leave. They don’t hold up to towing thousands of miles, etc etc. I was looking at the puma destination series. These are not that much bigger than thier regular puma line...

Trailer connect

I have a question regarding "Trailer Connect" on my Ford F350.I have both a 5th wheel and slide-in camper. The 5th wheel seems to just "connect" if the truck is running. The Slide-in camper only "connects" once I press the brake on the truck.Anyone ...

T@b 400 -- comments by those who've seen it??

I stumbled across a reference to this new "big teardrop" -- as far as I can tell, there hasn't been a discussion of this model on this forum?? (Please forgive me if I am wrong -- I really did search the archive and came up empty.)I haven't seen one ...

GM outsold Ford??

Read something yesterday and not sure of others saw/read it as well, but it said that GM outsold Ford in truck sales for 2021. If true, that would dethrone Ford as the #1 seller of trucks 45+ years running. Truth or rumor?

Bittersweet

File this in the "you never know what life will toss at you" bin...You may recall that I spent the summer of 2020 rebuilding a 2002 Lance with extensive water damage (link to the project is in my sig). The camper really came out great, and it was my...

Sikaflex 221 for side mounted fridge vent?

Driving myself crazy reading about sealants. I need to reseal the bezel of the fridge access cover. Hopefully I'll never have to replace that plastic bezel. I'd like to use a sealant that can be touched up. Will use painters tape to try to keep seala...

Bed mat and cutting out for factory bed holes?

Ordered the new 3500 with the factory puck system in the bed. Now I did not get the factory spray in bed liner. Going to put the rubber bed mat in when it makes it here. But would like to cut around all 5 circle covers in the bed. Figure if I cut the...

Fast Gun issue?

The fast Guns came up short yesterday. They were about 2" short of reaching my Torklift frame mounts on the front. The rear fit without any issue. But on my 2022 ram 3500. Its like the frame mounts put the receiver lower then it needs to be. Thus the...

Is support needed when storing for an extended time?

Hello all. I am fairly new to truck campers, about a year now. I have been leaving the camper- Cirrus 820- sit on the jacks when not in use. Sometimes for a month or two. Is a platform or stand needed to take the weight off of the jacks when not in u...

Galley Grey Tank

My galley tank is not draining. Valve is on long cable in insulated and enclosed underbelly so I can't see it but the handle doesn't feel any different, feels like it is working?Water goes down the drain with no hesitation, could there still be a clo...

What causes soft floors

What causes soft spots in floors? What can be done to prevent that? How serious is it?I'm guessing soft spots are areas where the subfloor (plywood or OBS) has gotten moisture and weakened. I'm wondering if it happens more when parked on a grassy lot...
